Combining Points??

I thought I've seen this asked before, but couldn't find it:

This is what we want: 300 points. The early years we'd be spending most of the time at BCV due to the pool and the age of our kids (6,5,4), at least we think that at this stage!

Would it make sense (and possible?) to buy SS 150 points at the current deal and then another 150 BCV via resale ?

would we then be able to book a week at a 2 bedroom at BCV (284 points) assuming the points would be combined? Or do I understand that we could only book the 150 points of BCV 11 months ahead of time and the remaining needed points would have to be booked 7 months ahead of time - thus risking the chance we wouldn't get the full week at BCV???

Yes!! You could also "bank/borrow" and get 300 pts at BCV every other year, and 300 pts at SSR every other year.

My best advice....if you want BCV pretty much all the time (and you know that now...buy BCV)...it can get really worrisome if you want somewhere desperately, but your points are somewhere else.
