Hi all. I booked a room through DVC using my points (1 bedroom, 1 night at BCV for 9/2); 9/1 was not available through DVC with points but I was able to book a one bedroom villa with cash from the regular Disney hotel website.

My question is will I need to move rooms? I assume they come from 2 different room inventories but are they the same room and will I be able to request to connect the reservations when we arrive? Understanding that it is not a guarantee, but is it at least possible?

Thanks!!

You need to have a continuing stay noted on your reservations now. If you wait until you arrive, it will be too late as rooms are assigned several days to a week prior to arrival.

Call Member Services and ask them to combine them into one stay.

They can't be combined into one since the cash portion was not made through DVC. The best they can do is have them flagged as a continuing stay.
Yes, sorry - I knew I was phrasing it wrong. I don't need them on one reservation, but I wanted to ensure we wouldn't have to physically move rooms. I will call and ask for a continuing stay.

You will need to chat/email/call MS, give them both confirmation numbers, and ask for a Continuing Stay notation to be placed on the DVC reservation. Then call the DVC cash reservation number, give them both confirmation numbers, and again ask for a Continuing Stay notation on the cash reservation. I don't think the two systems are linked, meaning you have to deal with both.

Then when you arrive for the first night, go to the front desk and ask whether they have that notation on the two reservations. If they don't, that will be the best time to try to fix it! And they will want you to stay in the same villa just as much as you do - saves on housekeeping costs.

Thank you so much!
