Combining points and cash in a stay?

I've never done this before-used points for Sunday thru Thursday, but we want to arrive Saturday and pay cash that nite (we're going to HH, and points there for Saturday nite are so high!). We're mostly interested in the chances that we have to switch rooms between our cash stay and then our points stay, or do they definitely link the reservations. DH says no way will he change rooms! Also, what is the chance of getting the members cash discount for a February stay (25% isn't it?). Any help, please. I'm calling for ressies on Monday, 1 BR.

Chances are very good at HH that you won't have to change rooms- make sure to have MS note it on your reservation. You may have to get a new room key for the days of the cash reservation (we've had it done both ways in the past).

For a stay in Feb, you have a good chance to get the member's discount.

I am interested in much the same thing.
I was also wondering, if I book with DVC discount now, and they come out with better AP discounts, can I cancel the DVC discount reservation and rebook with the AP reservation later. The cost difference might be considerable, as I've heard AP can be as much as 44%.

Last can anyone tell me what rack rate is for both a studio & a 2 bedroom villa at BCV for Friday & Saturday in late January.

I just got back from a stay at BWV where I paid AP rates for Friday and Saturday, and points the rest of the week. A one bedroom cost me $300, not a terrific rate, but it saved me 120 points, so it worked out. I had it noted on both the cash and points ressies that we would be there for the other nights, and it worked out great! On Friday morning there was a bill slipped under our door and two new keys for the cash nights! We got a full cleaning on Friday and Saturday, and turn-down service, too. I was very pleased by how easy it was! It was much better than it used to be. A CM at the front desk told me that lots of people do it that way, and that they had gotten lots of complaints about it, so they had been working on a way to make it better for the guests.
