Combining Discounts??

Yes, but you can't add dining on on the WDW site, you have to call Disney, and request dining be added to your room only reservation.

Happy travels.
Thank-you so much! I think that this might be a good idea for us! We have 3 kids and do a lot of character meals so the dining plan usually save us money. My husband also likes to have the dining plan and not worry about how much everything costs, LOL.:)

Good advice! My travel agent assures me that we shouldn't need to show any ID at the park entrance but, since we'll be heading to Epcot directly from the airport on our day of arrival, I'll be sure to keep our passports handy, just in case :) But I definitely don't mind a bit of potential inconvenience to get such a nice deal!

The cast member I spoke to when booking the two discounts said a valid Canadian passport would be needed to retrieve the tickets upon arriving to the parks; something about it being a certificate/voucher for the passes rather than tickets themselves.

Please clarify this for me.... she can only get the dining plan because she's purchasing her room and tickets through WDW, correct?
We've reserved our room through WDW, but are getting the majority of our tickets through Airmiles, so we can't add the dining plan, can we?

If you get a RO discount and buy the park tickets at 25% off, can you link the tickets to your room and add the Dining plan?
You should call and ask about the Canadian package currently being offered ---it *should* work out to slightly less than piecing it together.

YES You are able to add the dining plan if you booked your room directly through Disney. You need to call and ask them to add the dining to your room and it will become a "ticket-less package" It will then be governed by the same cancellation policy that applies to packages and not the one associated with RO reservations.

When the ticket discount first came out I called and asked this question specifically because our kids all want the dining plan. Before we went ahead with it they released the packages and that worked out to be a better deal for the kids!

Thank-you so much for the reply!:) The current offer looks really good but I am looking ahead to next November. We are going next month with a MYW package we booked last December before all of the prices went up in the new year and it worked out better than the current late fall RO discount! When I got online as soon as the RO offers were released there was no availability for our dates at POR at all. My DS9 was determined we go to POR this time, LOL. Can you book a MYW package with the 25% ticket discount? I could try for a RO BB but last year November was excluded.

I am hoping to book for my family of 4, Dh and kids aged 12 and 10 for first week in May. Hoping to stay in Poly....so does this mean i should call and ask about a Canadian Package that will hopefully get me a good deal on resort/dining/tickets, or is it better to get the 25% tickets, book the resort and then hope for a RO discount for my time frame?

If I book a package, can I then cancel if getting a RO discount, plus the 25% of tickets is cheaper? (then add dining later)?

It'll be our first trip and would love to save as much as possible as we will also be going to Universal after for 2 or 3 days.

TIA!!

Since you're both asking a very similar question i figured i could answer you both at once (being slightly efficient!)
YES, you can book a package using the current 25% tickets for a trip later because until you actually activate the ticket by entering a park it won't expire, as soon as you do that, it is good for 14 days. You are both planning trips that happen AFTER the end of the ticket sale (Feb 28) so you should purchase those tickets soon-ish. Even if a RO discount doesn't happen during your trip you will still be saving the 25% on the tickets if you buy them now.

You can take any RO discount that comes out and so long as you book it directly with Disney, you can create what is referred to as "A ticketless Package" by adding in the dining plan. I would suggest joining a thread within the Resort boards (there's one called Discounts & Codes) that gives heads up for release dates. If there isn't already a thread for your months you can start one and then follow along with others.

One last comment --- there was absolutely no rooms showing as available for the current discount at POP but i called and asked about piecing it together myself (since there were rooms open at full price) and the CM had no problem booking it for me. I would recommend calling and spelling out exactly what you're looking for (and this is really strange for me because i HATE the phone!) because there is STILL no indication that what we can book online is an offer only for Canadians.

Hope i haven't confused the issue anymore than needed!

Thank you so much @Donald - my hero I went and read up on my months discount thread. You must see the same questions all the time so I appreciate you taking the time to answer mine! You are so helpful!

Not need to thank me! This is how i feed my Disney habit while counting down to my next trip (even when i have no trip planned!) The DISboards have saved us literally THOUSANDS over the last couple of decades. I was a member when they were an infant and have learned that while it's a tad bit more hostile "out there" beyond the comfort of the Canadian Forum, it's a great place to learn some tricks & meet some nice peeps!

Okay I just got an email that states up to 30% off room (with a unique code)...sadly Poly is only 15% off.....so best to call and get this applied plus the 25% off tickets right? Grand Floridian is 20% off...and AKL is 30%.....I may rethink the Poly now to save a little more. EXCITING!!

Thank-you so much that was very helpful!:) My DS9 would love your Avatar, Donald is his favourite!!!

another quick question....if I call to book the room and then the tickets to get my discounts, do I only pay a deposit or do I have to pay full for either the room or the tickets?

EDIT: so I was on the WDW website and a chat box popped up so I asked there. I was told deposit only for room, but pay in full for ticket

BUT, she said I should book the dining plan with the room as I may not be able to add dining later. Is that the case, no way to add dining to a room only reservation later?
