I’m sure I’ve either done this (or tried at least) over the years but can’t recall if I would be able to combine a reservation made prior to 7 months and one made after. Same room type and view, same guests.

Same membership? Then yes, they can be combined.

Different membership numbers? Then no, they cannot be combined but Member Services can link them as a continuing stay and you may not have to switch rooms.

Anyone know the answer to a similar TYPE question? Lets say you have 10 BLT points and many more Poly points... You want to book a a week at Poly but use up all your poly points and are short by 10 or less - can you somehow add those 10 BLT points and finish the week? (this assumes of course that you are less than 7 months from stay). Thanks to whoever knows how to do this out there!

At 7 months, all points are equal and home resort is no longer a factor. As long as the points from both resorts are under the same membership, they can be combined to book one reservation. Otherwise, you would have to have Member Services transfer points from the BLT membership to the Poly membership before a reservation can be completed at 7 months.

Thanks. When you say 'transferred' you don't mean a traditional transfer but one where they just combine points, correct? IOW, if I cancelled the reservation later, those points would not 'stay' in the Poly contract, but go back and revert to the BLT contract, yes?

When I say "transferred" I am referring to the traditional transfer of points between memberships. Note that I am talking about contracts under different memberships and not two contracts under the same membership.

For instance, let's say that you have BLT with a March UY and Poly with an October UY. Those would be separate memberships and to use the Poly and BLT points together at 7 months, you would have to call Member Services and transfer points from one membership to the other. That action is not reversible. The BLT points transferred to the Poly membership would remain BLT points and would still have a March UY. If a reservation that was made using those BLT points were canceled, they would not be returned to the BLT membership.

Points never change contracts. If both home resorts are the same membership, then at 7 months, all points can be used to book...just check both contracts when booking and it will use them all,

If someone has two memberships...different UYs...or different owners...then in order to use them together, the transfer has to be done, Once moved, they remain in the membership that got them.

As mentioned, transferring is when points go from one membership to another, even if the owners of both are the same.
