I believe you can get discount tickets from Kroger. The Entertainment book has them for $1 off. If you have a membership to another zoo, you can get in for half price. You can also get $2 off tickets if you are a AAA member, but you have to get them at the office.
I was also going to suggest checking out a membership to your local zoo (if you have one). Even though its a bigger up-front cost, tt can be a huge money saver. Last year we used our membership to visit 3 other zoos while on a driving vacation and got into all of them for free. Our membership had cost $65. Each trip to our local zoo is $26 without a membership and one of the zoos we visited would have cost us $55 alone in admission! It more than paid for itself just by visiting the local zoo and then went above and beyond when we used it on vacation. Plus we got to take advantage of members only discounts at the other zoos (discounted train rides and special exhibit admission.
I second sewsweetmama- I have had family memberships to local zoos, and you can check the list to see what other zoos participate- I go to any zoo local to where I travel that way, with free admission. check your zoos reciprosity list first.
