Wow, what is up? We loved this place. I always got the chowder and half sandwich. Now you have to buy them separately. I was sad enough the chowder didn't come in bread bowls anymore, now this?

And DH's chicken strips are pathetic now. Totally pathetic and cost more.

Disney - I'm not happy. :sad1:

It's been posted for the past month or so that chicken strips at all of the QS locations have been changed to chicken nuggets. Not looking forward to that. Obvious cost-cutting on Disney's part, although the claims was it was requested by a vendor. Formed and pressed vs. natural chicken strips doesn't cut it for me, either.

Haven't been there since all of the menu changes have taken place. I'm sure others who have will be along soon.

And the rest of us will be saddened about the menu changes for our upcoming visits!

I am so not happy about this! I loved the chicken fingers at WDW on our last trip! I ate them like 5 times! I really don't care for chicken nuggets. So are all of the CS locations now only seving chicken nuggets? For real? How could they do this? That is the craziest thing I have ever heard! How could a place as large as WDW not serve chicken fingers. Oh my, I am going to have a breakdown. I don't know that I will even eat CS if I can't get my chicken fingers. Sorry, I know this sounds crazy, but I really did love them.

We just got back from WDW last week. We did eat at Columbia Harbor House once. The menu said chicken nuggets but they are regular chicken strips that are much smaller in size (more coating ..less chicken). They still taste pretty good but the serving looks more like a child size than adult. We also had them at Backlot Express at DHS and again...smaller pieces but tastes the same. We also had the clam chowder at CHH and were looking forward to the great chowder of the past. It was very runny and I think I found ONE clam and ONE potato in the bowl. Maybe because it was very crowded with spring break or they were trying to STRETCH the servings...I don't know. We'll be giving it another chance as we're bring our two DS's in June.

According to reports, the "nuggets" are not formed and pressed, just smaller pieces of meat.

The nuggets are NOT the processed and formed ones! They are exactly the same as the strips were, whole white meat. Now, you just just 2 nuggets for every strip you used to get. As far as the chowder not having enough clams or potato, the person portioning it out probably just didn't stir it. All the good stuff has a tendency to sink to the bottom. They should be mixing it up a little bit when serving it. :woohoo:

We ate here the first week of April. I had the Galley salad and was very disappointed. It did not taste the same as when I had it 1 1/2 years ago. On that trip I ate it 3 times yummy back then yucky now. I think it was missing dressing or something.

We ate at CHH on Sunday and were also disappointed to see that the 1/2 sandwich/cup of soup combo is gone now too.

We are big fans of CHH. This is just another reason why I'm happy I'm booked for DXDDP for our August trip. I can't imagine trying to explain to the kids why all of their favorites seem to be disappearing from menus around the park.

Bummer, I love the lighthouse sandwich 1/2 with the chili! They really seem to be trying to make us eat off site, as in breakfast before I enter the park, maybe a ts before we leave or take the afternoon break offsite.

I am not looking forward to this change. We ate there early Feb and the old menu was still up and running. My thought was if you see one of those survey folks wandering around, make sure you let them know how you feel about the changes. I do everytime I get home and get a survery postcard. I tell them about the good stuff and the bad stuff.

As long as they left the starboard deck sandwich alone, I'll be fine with Columbia Harbour House.

But if all the chicken strips on site have been changed to ones that use more breading and less meat, then DW will be sad. She's not a chicken strips person anywhere but at WDW, but she does enjoy having them there once in a while. It's something she looks forward to.

DF believes that these should not be called "nuggets" but chicken "bites"... as that's what they really are. "Nuggets" just implies formed and pressed, KWIM?

I'm still excited to try CHH... I want that lighthouse sandwich!

Oh you've got to be kidding me!!! That is my favorite MK lunch! Drat... There is no way I can eat a whole sandwich and the soup (not to mention I don't want to pay for both).

I'll have to look for these survey people. :3dglasses I've never spotted them!
I'm sure I could think of many things to say!:chat:

And, I just realized, the OLD CHICKEN STRIPS!!!!!!!!!! THERE THEY ARE! WE MISS YOU!

I didn't read the whole thread, please forgive me if this has been posted already.

The chicken nuggets are the SAME as the chicken strips as far as the type of meat. They are now called nuggets because they are smaller than the strips.

Nugget = smaller chicken strip

What we did was order two bowls of chowder + one sandwich. We each ate a chowder and half the sandwich.
Btw, this was when they still had the combo, but we love chowder so much, can't get it at home, so we want a large portion of it each time we can!

Of course, this only works when you're with someone who wants to share a sandwich.
