We ate at CHH in the MK on Tuesday night. We all thought it was a very good meal for a quick counter service dinner at a theme park. The hummus sandwich with broccoli slaw was wonderful, as was the salad with grilled chicken strips. We also thought the clam chowder and chili were tasty.
The kids meal chicken is the cold strips like in the salad...my kids woudn't go for it. So we had to order 3 meals of the fried chicken strips...but they let us sub. mini-carrots for the fried which was good...otherwise its way too much fried food for us!
We got there at 5pm and went upstairs....it was huge up there with many rooms. We got an entire room to ourselves with windows overlooking the street and Haunted Mansion. I don't think people realized they could go upstairs.


We had planned on eating at the Plaza Pavillion and then watch the fireworks, but it was closed T, W and Th!!!
However, they let us sit there to watch the fireworks...just asked that we put back any chairs or tables that we moved. Perfect seats. My husband didn't like the overhead lights, but I'll take a comfy seat with lights on over sitting or standing on a street curb any day!

I think CHH is one of the hidden fast food jewels at WDW. I love the chowder in the bread bowls. The chicken strips are great for the kids as well.

Possible bad news on the bread bowls for the soups.......on Tuesday night the soups were being served in regular bowls...

Hhhhhmmmm..good question on the elevator. I didn't look around much, never even made it to the bathrooms there! I didn't see one, but the place is broken into smaller "rooms" so I really couldn't see much.
But there was also plenty of seating on the main floor at the time we were there - 5pm on a Tuesday.

Next time try the tuna sandwich. It is the best sandwich at WDW. I think it's because it is on this great 7-grain bread and made with white tuna only. DH and I get one every trip.

I am going to be there at Easter time and someone in our group is going to be in a wheelchair. I was just wondering so that we could go up there and find a quiet spot, maybe.

Marypop-
It looked like most folks just plopped down at a table in the main area closest to the food service. But the downstairs is like the upstairs in that there are smaller table areas partitioned off by walls further down the wide main hall/lobby/ordering area. I didn't see many people at those tables when I went to the stairs.

Harambe-- Yes! I'm pretty sure thats the same bread the hummus sandwich was on! I didn't analyze it too much b/c I was too busy snarfing it down, but it was def. whole grain and it seemed like it might have been lightly toasted??
I like hummus as a spread for pita, but never thought to have it on a sandwich so I was a bit leery and almost went for the tuna, but I was pleasantly surprised.

BTW, you can try various things b/c they have a half sandwich/cup of soup item. DH and I both did that, ordering different items and then we split the large salad.

I'm also a big fan of CHH. Love that Galley Garden Salad and the relaxed seating upstairs. Great people-watching overlooking the entrance to Haunted Mansion.

I'm also curious if there's an elevator to get upstairs. This next time I'll have my mom who will be using a wheelchair. She can do stairs, but only very slowly.

Maybe I'll go ask on the Disabilities Board...

We took a behind the scene tour which included lunch upstairs at CHH. My daughter uses a wheelchair. It was a small elevator, and as I recall, we had to partially enter the kitchen to get to the elevator. That being said, I would think it is a service elevator only. Very likely the only reason we were able to use it is because we were on a special tour. Upstairs is very quiet, almost secluded. But I would think is is only for the able bodied.

CHH is our favorite fast food place. I do miss the bread bowls though. We go upstairs and it's never crowded and we have always been able to get a table by the windows.

I love CHH.

A fun trivia fact about CHH- there are NO restrooms in Liberty Square b/c in the colonial days they didn't have them. The bathrooms in CHH are at the far end because they are actually in Fantasyland, not Liberty Square!
