Columbia Harbor House review

We tried out CHH for the first time on May 29 right before Spectro magic. WOW! It was fabulous!

I had the hummus sandwich with a bowl of clam chowder. That sandwich was just wonderful, it was on an "olive bread" and was topped with broccoli slaw....very unique and so tasty. The chowder was very fresh and thick - not watery.

My hubby had the tuna salad sandwich with chili. The sandwich had just the right amount of mayonnaise and the chili was hearty and flavorful.

The kids both had the fish and chips and loved them. There were 3 large fish strips and both were wanting more. :)

We are not big counter service fans but we really loved this one, we will be back - it is a very nice change from burgers.

I love CHH too! It was even better when they had those bread bowls. I really miss those bread bowls. I love sitting upstairs, too. It's quiet and cool. A nice break.

YES, YES, YES!!! The downstairs was jammed packed but b/c of these boards I knew about the upstairs! It was practically empty and we had the most wonderful time. :) We are going back the end of this month and I just can't wait (what can I say, we are WDW nuts! )

We like to eat there too. But I am SAD! No more fresh home-made apple pie. It was a favorite for our family.... Instead they have some dumb prepackaged dessert. First the chocolate pie at Pecos Bill's goes off the menu, and now this. Not magical at all.

CHH is one of our favorite WDW restaurants. We eat there at least once every trip - sometimes more. Glad to hear you liked it too! :)

Love sitting upstairs looking directly at the Haunted Mansion with a bowl of the BEST clam chowder. Life is good.

Enjoyed reading your review ~ Thanx for sharing.

This is our favorite CS in the MK. The food is very good and we really enjoy sitting upstairs--it's not as crowded and often you can find a table next to a window. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the review, this is also one of our favorites. Nothing better than an upstairs window seat and the Garden Galley Salad! :thumbsup2

And it sounds like the place be is upstairs by a Window !!!
Thanks for this extra little tip, it really makes all these fun little secrets, tid-bits, so enjoyable to plan our vacation! :beach: :thanks: :tilt:

I tried it for the first time in January 05. We may try it for lunch our first day at MK this trip.

The Garden Galley Salad was the best thing I ever ate!!! And it was enough for 2 people, it was so packed into that bowl....chicken, pecans, pineapple, feta cheese.....yum!

The broccoli slaw/hummus sandwich is called The Lighthouse. I like 1/2 a Lighthouse sandwich and 1/2 a bowl of veggie chili:)

I totally agree, and it is on our menu plan this time around too! Already know I am having the Clam Chowder! :thumbsup2

This is always our first lunch on our first day of our trip...love the chicken strips and fish! A lot of people seem to pass it by, since you have to walk in and down and it is dark...lots of great seating upstairs...wouldn't miss this one.

We have never tried CHH, but thanks to you guys :thumbsup2 , I believe we will add it to the list for the next trip in Nov. I checked the menu at allears.net, and since they have chicken strips, my DS (not a fish eater) is good to go. :teeth: Thanks for the thread!!!

We ate here a month ago. I had the ham sandwich. The thing was huge, I couldn't finish it. DH loves the clam chowder and my boys loved the chicken strips. We are planning on lunch there is Sept. I just booked free dining today!

We just love CHH! I am looking forward to going back. I am glad to hear about the chowder. It sounds like a must do in December. :goodvibes

Loving these reviews, I'm really getting some good ideas and confirmation on some of my choices It's hard because everyone has different tastes but these threads give me so many oppinions it is a huge help in choosing.

:sad2: We were there in April and were disappointed to find the only dessert was a prepackaged chocolate cake, and that there was no fish on the kids menu. We were on the dining plan and were looking forward to apple pie. Also, my son wanted fish but because we had 2A 1C on our card I couldn't get 3 adult meals.

The tuna sandwich was very good. The kids "chilled chicken" (cold grilled chicken and cheese cubes) was enjoyed by me but not the kids.

I had planned to meet a friend from Florida there for lunch on May 20, but when we got there they were closed, so we ended up going to Pecos Bill's (which was very crowded and not that great, in my opinion).

Don't know if they had a special function there or were closed for some other reason, but we were bummed.
