Columbia Harbor House - huge disappointment

Air conditioning in the often half-empty upstairs dining room is priceless.

But you're correct, the food is 'meh'....

I’ve not heard of anyone being infatuated by CHH, and I’ve not been to either of those places you’ve mentioned so I can’t compare, but we go because it’s quiet and cool upstairs and relatively easy to find a table.

We enjoy the Lighthouse sandwich and chilli.

I’ve never been to a long John silvers. I enjoy
Columbia Harbor House cause it’s typically not mobbed and quieter upstairs. This is so enjoyable when one feels overwhelmed with
People, noise and basic sensory Overload.
I also like the Tuna salad sandwich n chips which is tasty and so reasonably priced.
It’s All a Win Win morning n my book.

The good part is... it’s Disney, there’s a myriad of options for food.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a rave review of the food at CHH. Like other posters wrote, we go there mainly for the fact that we don’t have to hunt for a table, like we have to do at Peco’s if arriving anytime after 11AM.

In addition to the above responses, I think another draw is that they offer some different food items, not just a hamburger. Opinions on how good the food is are all over the place, just like at practically every eating spot at WDW.

Infatuated with the food? No. Love the airconditioned space upstairs? Yes.

When folks ask for a MK CS recommendation I generally suggest CHH because it is a far cry from the experience that we always have in Cosmic Ray's and Pecos Bill's. You can actually place an order in a reasonable amount of time, get your food rapidly, and then find a nice open table without stalking the dining room while hoards of other people are doing the same thing. There is one concession, so you do not need a phone or bullhorn to let your family know where you finally found your table and you will not have a hungry tired group of people eying you if you relax for a moment after your food is consumed. For me that is the best reason. Add a tuna sandwich and I also find CHH priceless.

We love CHH because we can get something other than burgers/chicken nuggets. My OH really likes the Tuna Sandwich and I go for the fish combo usually. We too love it as it's always quiet especially upstairs and is relatively easy for seating. Even over Christmas and New Year we managed to get a table upstairs.

We aren't after exceptional it's a quick service at a theme park. It is better than most the QS on offer in theme parks.

To echo what other posters have mentioned, the upstairs seating area is a quiet place to get away from the heat. If you are able to get a window seat, you can watch the crowds go by while you are eating.

I agree with you though, the food is mediocre, but value for the money in terms of the quantity of food you get for the price is pretty good compared to other QS meals you’ll find at MK. We were able to share a platter and kids meal between 2 adults and a 10 year old and were pretty full afterwards. My issue with some of the other QA places is that you pay so much for a meal and still feel hungry afterwards.

The fried stuff probably isn't any good, and that's usually what I see people eating. But they have some nice choices, like grilled salmon, a very good salad and an excellent tuna salad.

The fried stuff is good! I always enjoy their fried shrimp/fish combo, and as a family we love Columbia Harbour House because we can all find something we like for a reasonable price and get a quick break in a convenient MK location.

Tuna sandwich and chips, eat upstairs.
CHH is my go to in MK for quick, and very decent compared to what else is available for the price.

Mk food is more about damage control, than finding great eats.
Tuna sammiches, chips, and Dole Whips are my steady diet at MK, unless I'm doing the desert party. Then add in cheeseburger egg rolls and 20 chocolate covered strawberries for dinner.

And in the MK, where nothing is really great. Put CHH in Epcot or AK and it would not be recommended nearly as much.

I got super sick from CHH on my last trip. My daughter was sick from it previously. I used to like the upstairs section like everyone else and the tuna sammie, but ughhhh...no more

Never have had either of what you mentioned, but we like CHH because it's not all fried, and it is easy to find seating.

Infatuation is a strong word, but we like it because the food differs from the standard burgers and chicken nuggets you can find at most any other QS. Its a good stop when we're looking for something quick and a little different.
