Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

But first the house would have to sell and the job would have to be lined up, ok, before the house is put on the market we would have to declutter some!
good luck with that-we sold a house in Arvada last spring-luckily we had lots of equity-but we were on the market 7 months-and of the 4 offers we got that were not ridiculous-3 buyers couldnt qualify. I hope it goes better for you!

Slight dusting in Greeley, but it's stayed so far in the spots not getting any sun.

Welcome Carebear2002!

Macca1111: You're going to WDW for Thanksgiving?! Lucky you and I am jealous!! You must be so excited!

We love it that time of year and had begun to make it a tradition, but with DD in AP classes this year, we decided to not take the kids out of school. This year we cook our own turkey.

Have a great time!

Macca1111: You're going to WDW for Thanksgiving?! Lucky you and I am jealous!! You must be so excited!
This is the first year I've gotten to go during the holidays...my sister moved there in August, so I visited in September and got to see the Halloween decorations (but unfortunately not MNSSHP) and now the whole family is going for Thanksgiving. I am missing one day of school, but as a grad student I don't really care. ;) We haven't been during any holidays before because my parents would never let us out of school for a vacation - Dad's actually a little annoyed that I will have missed two days of school for WDW this semester! - so I'm SUPER excited! I actually can't believe it's so close - good for WDW, bad for the end of the semester right after WDW. I'm especially excited to see all the Christmas stuff up - maybe we'll get to do Christmas there next time.

I don't live in CO, but, hope to one day - dose that count :rotfl:. I keep telling my husband this is where we will end up!! I would love to move around the Divide or Woodland Park area.

I used to live in Kentucky (a long time ago) :goodvibes Sure, come chat with us!

Macca1111, the week before TG is hopping with activity, so my two cents of past experience is if your plan is to ride the attractions, go early, use the fastpass system, get them as early as you can, expect large crowds, and go with the flow. If you stay on-site, take advantage of early opening or late closings. Christmas is even more crowded than TG, we did that just once. The week after TG calms down a quite a bit, most of the crowds go home the Sunday following Thanksgiving. Have fun!

I understand your dad's annoyance with missing school for vacation - it's different when you're paying out of pocket! But you'll be recharged and ready to attack the rest of the semester - right? ;)

Hello all. I am here save and sound and am loving it so far! We arrived late Thurday night and I have been trying to get used to driving around the city. I am still without internet at the house and decided to write from DH job really quickly!

Thanks for al lthe support and I will write again soon!

Add us to the list of not living there, but hopefully moving there.

we just started talking about it. We live in Ga right now. We used to live in mt for about 4 years then moved back to ga.

We are thinking about putting our house on the market around April or so... the market is just so so slow!!!

We have not really looked to much into which part of colorado or anything like that yet.

Glad you made it Sheree! Welcome.

Hi to all those that are wishing to live here. It is certainly a beautiful state. Just got back from our week vacation. We visited so many beautiful areas. Stayed by Beaver Creek in a condo and drove all over. Aspen was my favorite with Steamboat coming in next.

We LOVE Arvada, that is where I grew up! But when we were house hunting, we decided to get "more house" for our $$$ and went out to Thornton.

I know that selling our house won't be easy... and we bought at the height of the market, so we don't have a lot of equity, but if it's ment, it will sell!

The plus to our home is that we have 4 bedrooms all up stairs and not a lot of homes have that (that's what I've been told anyhow)... I'm not to worried yet! We won't really know more till mid to late December, so time to think about decluttering!

Actually we need to declutter anyhow so this is a good thing!

We just sold one of our houses and it was in Arvada. It went VERY fast but to a friend. Hopefully you will have the luck we did.

I love Steamboat...both in winter and summer. :goodvibes

Count me among the unemployed Coloradoans as of next Wednesday. I've been contemplating leaving my job for awhile and just had the gumption to finally put in my resignation last week.

Dang....every once in awhile I get a little (or a lot) nervous about not having a job in the wings. :headache:

Good luck to you Theresa in finding a new job. My DH is still unemployed and finally went to claim unemployment with the state.

Drive safe this morning, the roads can be a little slick.

Theresa, I did the same thing years ago. It worked for me. I have confidence in you, too! Good luck.

thanks...I keep thinking the known is better than the unknown and then I get a reality check from my office mates.

I do have an interview tonight and I do know that I did it at probably the worst time possible. Sometimes sanity is more important than money. :upsidedow

Hey all!
My husband got the job!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :yay: :cheer2:

We will be moving to the Denver area very soon!
We will sell our house here and then we will be out of here hopefully our luck holds as our neighbours did they sold in 2 months at full asking price *keeping fingers crossed*

So since Dh and I will both be workingout of our home we wont need to worry so much about commute, we will be focussing our search on good schools. So far we are looking at the Highlands Ranch/Littleton area.b From what I understand those areas have some of the best schools around.

So what should I know before I do this? I am more than just a little overwhelmed at this point!

But Yay!!! Denver here we come!
