We had a visitor in our front yard this morning...

Wow, you don't see that every day. In your front yard in daylight! You sure he's not part dog?? Quick, hide the baby geese!

We did see a fox running across Main Street in Broomfield as we were driving home from Dave & Buster's the other night.

Very cool! Looks as if he's posing, knowing his picture is being taken!

(Glad you stayed inside - I know they don't usually harm adults, but not worth the risk. Plus the whole human interaction with wild animals desensitizing stuff...)

Hi disnyewourldlover, welcome.

What a miserable Memorial Day. I always thought that it was the first day of a sunburn for most. Not today!

PoohFriends step daughters were involved in the tornado last Friday but are doing just fine. She can tell you about it.

Jrsy, cool pictures. I will have to show Ted.

Those tornado warnings were something. Yes and so much for a sun burn we have over cast all day long. So much for a sunny summer vacation.

Hi there, we're in Centennial, just north of Park Meadows.

JrsyBoy - interesting coyote picture My DH actually saw one yesterday just across the street crossing into our neighbor's back yard, and this was about 9:00 last night. We live just down the street from the Open Space off Homestead Parkway and often foxes who live there show up late nights and early mornings. First time we've seen a coyote though.

We went to DH's Memorial Day tennis social in spite of the weather. I told the kids to dress warmly - they didn't. I had blankets in the car, so we wrapped ourselves in them and watched the games and took pictures. The younger DD was fine while she was playing, but after she stopped she sat on my lap and stole my blanket. I don't think DH ever gets cold. At least we didn't get any rain. We heard the jets from the Bolder Boulder flyover.

Ok, I guess I can't tell a fox from a coyote. I didn't know we have coyotes here. We had them all the time in southern California, but that was years ago for me.

Welcome, disneyworldluvr349 and Coloradomom!

Wasn't a miserable day for me! I got a new car. (SUV, actually--- yes, I complain about the price of gas, but I can't give up my beast SUV's! :lmao: I just feel so much safer in them...)
It's a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It's brand new but it's a 2007 - was marked down big time just to get it to move. (They still had a BUNCH of 2007's on the lot - don't know how they got overloaded with them, but it's excellent for us! It was marked down over 12K off!)
Even got a grilled burger (at the dealership). We wouldn't have grilled if we'd been home, so that was a bonus. LOL

We had a coyote slowly strolling down the middle of the road a couple of weeks ago. It was around ten at night or we would have tried to capture his picture as well. They must be very abundant IN town this year.

Val, speaking of jets.....we were in Monument today and they flew over so many times and very low. We see them every year but NEVER, EVER that low. I am guessing that they must have some sort of event at the Air Force Academy yearly. By the way, are you taking the PC cruise again this time? We had reservations for both but ended up giving them back. Decided we needed a change of scenery plus didn't want to go on my DD's honeymoon. LOL

No, we aren't going on the PC. I may go back through the Panama Canal sometime in the future, but not now. I didn't want to deal with the first day booking rush, and I wasn't willing to pay the fares they were charging. Our next Disney cruise is in October 2009.

I am betting the fly overs were for graduation at the AFA.

We have coons, foxes, geese, stray cats....can you tell we live close to an open field and lake??

Good morning.

I hope everyone in Windsor is staying strong, my prayers go out to them. It was a very scary day for us as well. My step daughters live in Johnstown and they go to school in Milliken. We couldn't get a hold of anyone, but finally did and they are all okay. They were terrified, but still okay. The girls were telling us that even the brave boys were crying and that a lot of the kids were screaming. The hail broke the school windows. At their home the power was out, but they got it back a few days later.

Congrats to all the graduates. I recruit a lot of engineering students from the CSM, CSU and CU.

I hope everyone was able to enjoy the long weekend.

It actually is a fox. It was difficult to get a really good picture through the screen with the bright sun and the shade. We get foxes in our neighborhood every so often, but never had one right on the front lawn before.

Sorry about the weather. I think it is our fault because we got the pool up and filled. Works the same as causing rain by washing your car.

Thanks for the good wishes. My daughter's HS graduation was wonderful and her party went really well. The weather Saturday morning was beautiful. It was a great weekend but I am glad it is over :)

Graduations are hard on a person. Thank goodness I had twins and only had to do the HS and College graduations once!
