college

Lately i've been thinking of LSU.
and i know for sure i''l be majoring in Vocal Performance.

LSU is an amazing school. Baton Rouge is a beautiful city and LSU is just so.. warming. If that makes any sense?

Everyone who graduates around here goes to one of three schools.

LSU
McNeese
Northwestern.

McNeese is in Lake Charles, La. It's about and hour and a half from my town. It's a pretty small university. That's where I plan on going. I want to go into psychology. ABA (applied behaivor analysis) to be exact. I want to work with autistic kids :)

i'm actually thinking literature too, maybe as a minor. but i'm probably going to have to minor in education to be an english teacher, so i don't know.
There will probably be a major focused specifically at english teaching. Like my school has 'english with teacher licensure 7-12'. The lower-level classes are focused on english, and the upper-level classes are focused on english and how to teach it.

:)

my school does the same thing. first you pick the level of ed, then what you want to teach. ed will be your major though. and when you graduate you'll be a licensed teacher.

Right now I'm looking at University of Florida, University of Pennsylvania, and various small schools around here. I'm going to major in Nursing.

the university of Florida is such a good school

southeast missouri state; exercise science.
i have thought about majoring in exercise science what are you planning on doing after you get your degree in it??

I'm at the university of arizona....

studying biology, and hoping to get into med school in the fall of 2011.

My cousin goes there

i'm a social work major on the dcs track. i go to mtsu.

thats great!!!!

im at unlv studying hospitality management.

any plans to work at disney after your done??

I am planning to go to Iowa State University. I am planning on doing something with building. I want to build skate parks after college so I would guess that would help.

I am looking at Lake Erie College(Got accpeted there), Muskingum University(waiting for a letter), University of Cincy and OSU.

I want to major in neuroscience and then hopefully med school after that.

That's good to hear. :D
and they have a great music program.
almost all of my band and choir directors went there.

My top choice (and the only school I've applied to so far) is SUNY Purchase, which is about 30 mins from my house. I've honestly wanted to go there since I was a freshman, and it's the perfect school for me and what I'm into. If I get accpeted *crossing my fingers* then I would most likely major in drama studies. My other choices are Manhattanville (I need to audition in February), Ramapo College, and Sarah Lawrence. Haven't applied to those yet though, but I will soon :)

I got accepted to both universities I applied to: Central Michigan University and University of Minnesota (just heard back tonight). But I don't think I'll go to either. I will most likely (about 99% sure) be going to art school instead. I've started the application process to Art Institute of Boston at Lesley, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and Corcoran College of Art and Design (in D.C). I'm trying to decide if I want to apply to Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Denver as well. I'm going to major in photography at art school. =)

i am going to be a personal trainer.
you can get your personal training certificate online, but if you go to college for it, you are likely to make more money and get a better job in a better gym.
at SEMO, you do work in the gym, as well as in the classroom, and intern at random places.
some people will train with the baseball or basketball team, but i will intern in a gym.
it's a pretty broad area of study.
but pretty much, i want to be the person at the gym that teaches you the proper exercises to do to lose the weight you want to lose or gain the muscle you want to gain.

I always thought that sounded like a fun job. Exercise and health science is going to be a backup/hobby for me. If you're still here when you go to college, I might be asking you a few questions about it and your study. I always wondered how you became a personal trainer. Cool stuff. :goodvibes

i'm looking at colleges right now. the main ones i'm looking at are: nyu, boston, and towson.
i want to major in forensic chemistry or theatre arts.

I want to go to UCF. creative writing, and art. also, hospitality management for other reasons.

What do you even do in a hospitality management class? I've never heard of it before now. It sounds like something that could really end up helping in just about anything you decide to do.

that was one of the main reasons I wanted to major in it was so I could train the football players and then get a job at the university once I graduate

DO you live on campus?

I commute to school everyday and though it sooo much cheaper its kinda crummy sometimes cuz I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of university experiences!

Coming from someone who is a Hospitality Management major at UCF you can get a variety of things for it. At UCF their are three different majors within the college: Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, and Event management.

A general hospitality management major has I believe 5 "tracks" they can specialize in including: hotels, club management(country clubs ect.), theme parks, cruising, and something else that I am drawing a blank on.

Restaurant and Event don't have tracks, but are more general. You basically learn about the industry, meet leading professionals in the industry, and are set up with internships ect. It will help with anything you decide to do...as long as it is in hospitality. It is geared for the industry, not just being hospitable in a business, you know?

Same. I live so close that I didn't think there was a point, but next year I'll be moving to the dorms. I feel like I'm missing out on something. :)
