Also, it it is an IT class, check with the university and/or your employer to see if they have a subscription to Safari books. If they do, you can sometimes get online access to books for free.
Also, the advice to wait until the first class is good. I would just add to that that if you sign up for Amazon Student, you may be able to get the book shipped to you in 2 days. This is generally not the case with used books however.
Lastly, sometimes the campus bookstore cannot be avoided, particularly if the professor wrote their own book.
