College rep benefits?

Daughter is considering becoming a campus rep.

I believe she is under the impression that by doing so she would hold "seasonal" status, giving her certain employee benefits. Does anyone know if this true? What would be the benefits? Would there be any family benefits included--as in the ones CPers have?

Thanks in advance.

She would retain seasonal status and the same benefits she received as a College Program cast member (50% off rooms, 20% off food/merch) as well as a new main gate pass each year (6 days for up to 3 people). However, they actually just changed it so that all Campus Reps are required to work one shift per calendar year at the Walt Disney World Resort. Being a campus rep is a lot of fun and a great way to relive the experience! Plus you can earn a lot of great prizes for all of your effort. Tell your daughter to apply!

It is a lot of work but good for the resume. Are there other reps at her school? I am the lone rep at my school and it has been very difficult. However, at larger schools with more reps I think it's a lot better because she gets to split the work and she'd be more likely to actually recruit people. Less than 10 people have ever done it at my school and we don't get credit for it so it's been super tough to recruit :(

But as far as the benefits, you get them if you plan on visiting. I've been a rep for a semester and haven't gone down to Florida so I haven't received any compensation. I'm not crazy about the new "shift" rule as I'd have to visit twice in order to get my family in- once to work the shift, and a second time to actually go with the pass. Kind of defeats the point.

There are some major pros and cons to being a campus rep...the cons are you can't actually be statused in two areas...therefore, you can't both be a campus rep and still be seasonal. I ran into this issue because i was under the impression that you could.. You can still pick up extra hours, but she is going to have to work w/ her leaders to figure that out. she would still get the same benefits as the cp such as discounts and main gate passes, however, seasonal people receive 2 comp tickets twice a year, which campus reps dont. They just changed the rules, so now if your a campus rep you still have to wk one shift in order to get your main gate. I feel like it is now like being seasonal, still having to go down there to work, but not getting the benefits of the comp it... The only pro i can really think of is the fact that it looks really good on a resume....thats why did it, i'm applying for the pi's, and i wanted to have that to boost my resume....so if your daughter is planning on persuing a career with disney i would tell her to do it, if not i think she should talk to her leaders about going seasonal...
