:cool1:DD is graduating from college. I'm so darn proud of her. She will have an engineering degree from a prestigious college and worked very hard to get the scholarships and jobs to get through these past four years. We've been DVC members since she was 6 years old. Her last trip to the World was her senior year of high school. Obviously, she knows WDW very well and I'm trying to think of doing something special, unique and adult with her that she's never done. We'll be at Animal Kingdom Kidani (in honor of her love of Lion King when she was 6). Any unique ideas out there?

Ahhh how nice that would be....however, we're leaving in 14 days and no availability. That would have been nice and I could kick myself for not thinking of that!

:thumbsup2 I vote for the two of you two to do a spa day at SSR or GF. Then if at the GF do the tea....very nice and memorable. You can also get a photopass photographer to meet you somewhere and take pics.

Maybe let her pick out a special piece of art or a nice piece of jewelry while at WDW.

This is indeed a very nice idea! I'll skip the jewelry because DH is giving her nice earrings at graduation (enough money spent already!! yipes). But the spa may be right up her alley and I will go investigate the GF spa and tea right now! I have to say that I so wish the Adventurer's Club was still open...I could so enjoy that with her now that she's 22! :rotfl:

:) You can find a price list at www.relaxedyet.com, or something similar. I would make the appointments for the morning. My MIL and I did and it gave us time to enjoy the whirpools and sauna before our appointments, you want to show up about an hour or so early to do this. SSR was very quiet that morning and very relaxing. My Mother and SIL have done the GF and it was lovely as well. They remember eating a nice light lunch in their robes. It was a treat from my brother. He even got all of their makeup ready and surprised them. They were heading to a campsite but he took a detour and pulled up at the GF. Gee, he is a nice guy. So they got out and were upset that they didn't have nice clothes or makeup on. He just handed them their makeup cases and told them he would see them that afternoon.

The tea has several different options. Seems like we each got a pot of tea and treats/sandwiches. I remember the strawberries and cream were good, and not enjoying the sandwiches. :confused3 They did have a Princess Party going on at a table so there was a bit of commotion but still very nice. Ask if you can request a window seat to look out across the GF at the lake.

I am assuming you are going with her??

First let me say you have a lovely brother and lucky SIL! And Yes! This is a mother/daughter trip that I've been so looking forward to! I'm thinking I might investigate SSR Spa more because seriously, I do not want to be next to a Princess Party! She's not a fussy kid...but that's exactly why I want to do something special...and I think the Spa idea - either SSR or GF -- would be ideal. I did some GF tea research and I need to think more on that .... she might be more of a margarita girl! SSR spa and maybe a downtown Disney destination? She's a biomedical engineer and although not a mechanical engineer, I still thought she'd be interested in animatronics and am now researching all the behind the scene tours to see if there is anything appropriate.

there is a cool techno bar on property...I went to the website a few days back and cannot rmember the name. It maybe at the swan or dolphin. Great lighting, couches for lounging...very NYC looking. You can sample the DJ's music on the site.....dangit what is the name??

I think it is new and she wouldn't know it was there...you would be the coolest Mom ever.

I just have to comment and do a side story on this. DH and I always stay at BWV or BCV. One night we wandered over to the Swan and strolled around the pool...and thought...wow...nice bar, nice atmosphere, not a lot of kids and no freaky pool clown. LOL. Needless to say, we invaded their pool and then we wandered more and went to the Blue Zoo ... cool place...is that what you were thinking of?

:) Check out the Rix site, it would be perfect!!
