College-Early Decision--Legally Binding?

They said that they guarantee every FA pkg will have $5K MAX in loans--very impressive for a school with $60K+ cost. And since majority of their freshman go ED, that is good to know. And knowing they only have 90 freshman merit scholarships they put together a good package.

DD loves Duke (AND physically the most gorgeous campus I have seen) but she wants business & communication and they only have masters in business.

We shall see...it is down to TCU (where DS is), Elon & MAYBE Duke (she loves the application process there---what??!! It was the most arduous of all we visited!!)

Clearly with 3 choices we will go EA but not ED. DS did EA too tho he didn't decide until the last minutr

I can almost guarantee you'll have more than $5k out of pocket. They're probably referring to the student debt per year, not the parent plus loans.

Right-the family will still have to come up with the expected family contribution, in addition to the $5k loan and whatever else Duke offers to meet the total cost.
