Collection agency calling DH's cell phone over and over

Here is my experience.

When I was 19, I purchased flowers for my girlfriend and had them delivered. The flower shop was going out of business but still "in business". I paid cash and the flowers were delivered. Of course about a year later I get a call from a collection agency saying that I still owed for these flowers. I explained that I had paid cash, the reciept and been marked as "paid cash" and what florist would deliver flowers without being paid first.

The collection agency said that unless I could produce the reciept I was responsible and they told me my credit would be ruined. I told them to send me proof. I never heard from them again (that was 20 years ago).

It was obviouse that all of the financial books from the florist has been sold to this bill collector and they were just trying to make money off of people.

I was getting calls from some guy speaking Spanish.. Don't know if it was personal or business. Told him politely a few times, didn't work. I then had a friend teach me some choice phrases in Spanish( ie your mother is a stinking goat, get a real job, ) The calls stopped not too long
after that...

The agenc(ies) that are calling DH's cell phone are the sort that buy old debt and try to collect on it. We've been able to verify that from internet searches. They are not actually technically collection agencies, but some sort of bottom-feeder that buys up the old, discharged debts and tries to scare people into paying them. My guess is that they are just going through the list of people w/my DH's same name, trying to find the one who owes the $$.
