::MinnieMo have read somewhere that if you stay on disney property you can have your luggage collected from the airport and taken to your hotel know anything about this :flower3:

Sure, this service is called Magical Express, run by Disney and it operates from MCO (Orlando Intenational not Sanford) to the disney hotels. From the uk, you would need to collect your bags as normal when you get to orlando, then disney would pick them up for you at the next carrouseul and take them to your resort for you. You would need to book this with disney before you go, so that your bags would have the disney luggage labels. You would then board a coach that would take you free of charge to your hotel.

If you go over to the transportation board, there is a whole sticky thread about Magical Express (or DME as it is referred to around here :flower: )

Disney offer a facility called 'Magical Express'.

Basically it's a transfer service from the airport to your resort. YOu get special luggage tags and a Disney representative collects your bags from baggage reclaim and they get taken to your resort, while you get the bus transfer.
You can't do 'luggage only' transfer though.

It's free during the 50th anniversary celebrations, but I can see Disney charging for this eventually :)

For American visitors who are travelling on participating American airlines their luggage gets picked up automatically from the airport baggage system (they don't need to go through the international screening etc.). They are also able to check in to their return flights from the resort.

It only applies if staying at a Disney owned hotel (Swan and Dolphin guests are excluded).

I used this facility in August 2005 and was very impressed with it :)

If you have any questions from a UK perspective I would be very happy to try and help :)

We're travelling out to stay at the AKL this coming Saturday, and have been told by DISNEY that we are NOT able to use the magical express as we haven't booked directly through them (we booked through Expedia). We have now called 3 times to clarify this (as I had read what everyone on this board had said) and have been told the same each time, we have even emailed the resort twice but without reply.

As a result we are having to take a town car from the airport.

You may have booked directly through Disney, if so you'll be ok, if not, beware and get this clarified by your travel agent/tour operator.
