Collecting Fastpasses

In January, I tried to use DH pass at DCA to get him a FP, and although he came into DL, he didn't come into DCA. I could not get a pass for him at Soaring. I was told that he had to use it to enter both parks. Weird huh?:confused3 I wonder what the real deal is?

Is that exactly what they said, or what the ticket said?

I ask because my AP is floopy, and sometimes doesn't fully "read" at the gates. I get in, but it doesn't mark me as being in the park. Very annoying. I discovered this b/c I went to get a FP for Indy, and instead of spitting out the FP like it did with DH and DS's APs, I got a ticket that said something like "admission media not used for admission"...OK that's not what it said but it was something like that. Stated that I hadn't used it for admission and therefore I couldn't get a FP with it.

After a long and difficult, but ultimately helpful, conversation with a CM, we figured out that the scanner just hadn't actually scanned my AP, and I could either go out and then back in to the park, or I could go to City Hall, explain, and get a "ticket" to use in the FP machines that day.

Therefore, I wonder if that's what happened with your hubby's ticket, that the first scan of it didn't "take", and that's the wording on the paper it gave you.

Or if it was a CM who stated something about it. Basically I'm just wondering what exactly you were told, or if it was what was on the paper from the FP machine.

If this is true, then it is a change from how they have operated since 2005. I myself have gotten FPs at DCA when we have only entered DL, and vice versa, on many occasions. The last time I did it was in June 2007.

Anyone else tried it more recently?

We just returned from our trip on Saturday. During our stay my husband ran over to DCA to get us Soarin' fastpasses for us to use later one night. He did not have any problem even though we had not yet entered DCA that day.

Thanks. I was surprised by the report in this thread that this had changed, but am inclined to believe there was mistake or misunderstanding somewhere. Good to know this trick is still working.

Hmmm...I got the ticket thing that said it wasn't used for admission and I asked a cm about it. She told me that we had to have used it to enter the park. I just figured she meant because he didn't use it to enter DCA it wouldn't work. But it was working for FPs at DL so :confused3 ???

I think it makes sense. You walk into DL on a one park pass, they dream you with the fastpasses not knowing if you are a "one parker".Why would they deny you the use of DCA fastpasses on that dreampass the additional admission is obviosly part of it.That would be wrong to deny you the use of the DCA rides.

When we were dreamed with the Dream FP's, the CM asked us if we had parkhopper tickets.. We told him that we had AP's and asked him why? He told us that the Dream FP's allowed those without hopper tickets admission to both parks..
