:cool1::cool1:we are collecting a car via virgin for thr 1st time this trip, how long does it take to collect car,and get on the road to resort.

depends on how many planes have arrived at the same time, you could be waiting up to an hour at the dollar hire desk if that happens. best way is to get the dollar express card, its free and it get you priority at the desk,so you get your car within 5 minutes usually. I'm assuming you have a dollar car??

Hi there, I just followed your very helpful link, to sign up for this, but am confused as to why they are asking for credit card details and number if it is free. Do you know why they are asking for this? It is also strange that they are asking for business details, and it is mandatory. I have nothing to put in there. Also it is mandatory to put in the driving license expirary date, but I cannot see one on mine.

Any suggestions of how to get round these points will be gratefully recieved

You have to provide c/c details because when picjing up a car (even if you have prepaid) you have to leave a security deposit. Most people do this with their c/c.

If you don't join Express~Dollar, Fastbreak~Budget at busy times you can expect to take 60-90 mins to get a car(although Xmas we were 1st in line) all depends where you are sat on plane, if you are one of 1st thru immigration & how fast your luggage comes thru.
Totally your choice if you want to give your details online(incl credit card) but its a long wait at back of a slow line if you are unlucky. Well worth it to me, in past 2 years Express & Fastbreak has saved me an estimated 6-7 hours of standing in line.

We've only had to leave our CC details once and that was when we didn't get platinum insurance

the car hires do like to have an imprint of a credit card.
when filling out the dollar express form just put "none" in where it asks for business details, it is well worth having one of these cards-and yes they are free! as wayne says you can be waiting well over an hour for the car otherwise, and after a 9 hour flight its just no fun when your tired and fed up waiting to get to the desk

Thanks for the advice on form filling out everyone. All done and expecting to shoot through now!;)

Not to wish bad luck on myself or anything, but we have travelled 3 times with Virgin with a Dollar car and have had no problems whatsoever picking up the car. Just straight through to the man on the desk.

Don't you pick up the car from the Virgin/dollar desk and not the regular Dollar desk if it's through Virgin?

Usually the que is much smaller at the virgin/dollar desk (probably depends on how quick you clear customs though)

Yes that is what we have done. We have been impressed with them as they also have a man/woman to escort you to the dollar lot and then he goes and gets the car for you and loads the car up.
