I have seen a bunch of the memes and stuff... admittedly I have laughed at many of them, really though it is sad for the family members who are affected.

I have had lots of belly chuckles today with all the memes making the rounds.

True enough, but by now some are ridiculous, tedious, or even borderline offensive.
It was fun for 48 hours but now…..

Did anyone see the clip with the Philly mascot from the Philly's baseball game last night? OMG, I was laughing so hard.

A few minor league teams did the same with their mascots.

So did various local morning news/talk TV shows.

Your right..48 hours later... lost it flavor... but just imagine if they had this meme technically 1975 with Jaws and Star wars or Duran Duran wild boys...it was playing in Walmart overhead..41 years later playing in a retail outlet and I asked men my age if they could hear the song..."what???"...

Seriously, planning to go to a concert with tens of thousands of people knowing you’re going g to be chosen for the kiss cam at the same time as embracing. Of course this was not planned! This is a personal and professional nightmare!

I don't Forevermarypoppins meant that "they should have known they could be on the kiss cam". I think she meant more like, "If you're going to a concert with thousands of other people, the odds are good that you'll run into someone you know".

In any event, discretion is clearly not their strong suit. I read that he's resigned from his position. I hope his severance package sucks. I feel badly for his family (and hers).

Oh I agree… It just adds another level of humiliation to her and her family.

I'm sure her lawyer will play that up and add another couple of zeros onto the end of her divorce settlement.

If there was a breach of company policy regarding personal relationships, anyone from the company that knew about the affair and were in a position of authority could be in trouble. I work at a large corporation and as part of our annual compliance training we are reminded that if we know of a policy violation we are obligated to report it whether it involves us or not. And there is a way to report it to an outside agency that handles the investigation when needed (like when an allegation involves the highest levels of leadership so that they can’t cover it up.) I know not all companies have the same policies or procedures in place, but that company seems big enough to at least have some sort of reporting protocol.

Yeah - was thinking the same thing. That said - its possible in this case they can use the fact that its the head of HR and the CEO - I mean - who could you go to. I've seen similar situations first hand where someone did report it and the VP was informed by the head of HR and even told exactly who reported it - and nothing was ever done even though it was a clear violation. In the end people forget HR is not on your side - ever - they are not your friends - they are on the side of what is best for the company and they are happy to throw you under the bus regardless of the "Policy". I've seen it many times at many companies.

She also appears to be on the board at a Rum company (or was) - and possibly married to that CEO - also named Andy - from what I read. Seems they just bought a house 5 MONTHS ago with him.

Mindboggling - but not really a surprise at all - I come to expect this sort of thing.

With that being said, I can't believe the people my age that cheat and sneak around on their spouse. It's disgusting. Just get a freaking divorce if you don't respect your partner.

This. A cheap hotel room is a lot more private.
But massive entitlement may cause folks to believe they can do whatever they wish with no consequences.

Really? There are a lot of good marriages out there. One of my sisters is divorced, but the others have been married 51, 49, and 38 years, and we will hit 38 in a few months.

My one married DD (9 years) has a 3 year old, and when in a pessimistic mood about the state of the world I wonder about the advisability of bringing more children into it. But they are so much fun!

I don't know of any place where there's severance when someone "voluntarily" resigns.

It's kind of weird when someone chooses to resign in the face of pressure to do so before being fired for cause. I suppose a lot of it would be that being fired for cause might be an issue in future employment, although in this case I can't imagine that any future employer wouldn't find out about this incident, especially not for a C-suite position where they'll research his history. I've even filled in some employment applications where one of the categories was about resigning under pressure to do so, although I have no idea how anyone finds out given how most employers have policies that they don't disclose the reason for termination. Or don't say anything other than someone's time at the company and job titles.

I would think he's entitled to whatever accumulated vacation time he has.

I've been laid off before where I got extended medical benefits and severance. But at the very least I could honestly say that I wasn't terminated for cause and still got a fairly generous severance package.

Most people disappear into a crowd though. I'm reading that the attendance was over 66,000 for this particular concert.

Certainly I've been to a sporting event where I recorded the broadcast and when I got home and watched it I found that I was recognizable on camera. But those are regularly broadcast. Most concerts are not, and most people would be just one speck in a crowd. This just happened to be a very specific series of events. I would think that the odds of this happening to them was very low. And then someone who recorded it then posted it for everyone to see. It had to be a lot of different things to turn this into a public spectacle outside of the stadium.

There's been similar stuff like this. There was a video content maker who apparently was cheating on his wife with an employee of his company. I don't know if the rest of his company knew about it, but he was public facing (along with his wife and the employee) and he was recognized partying with said employee. Everyone has a camera phone these days, and it all became gossip to where these photos were posted to public discussion sites including Reddit.

I had read something a couple days ago, that he was negotiating the terms of his departure from the company. Also, I suspect the rules are different for C-suite employees, versus regular schlubs like you and I, in terms of departures, compensation, etc.

The memes remind me of all those Bernie Sanders memes around the time of the pandemic. The upside for those two at the concert is that the internet moves so quickly now there will be some other spectacularly stupid event to move this one to the back burner.
