Cold meds that work?

He took his first dose almost 3 hours ago and the sniffling and sneezing has stopped. He also said the pressure in his head has gone away.

I'm sure it's not allergies. He doesn't have any and my DH just got over a terrible head cold, too.

Yep, I buy the CVS pharmacy version of this... Pseudoephedrine and Ibuprofen. It has been our miracle drug. Probably cheaper than the name brand. Works great!!! ( Do not buy the other pharmacies, Walgreens I think, that are the little red round pills.. they are not as good, and we can really feel the side effects!) The CVS is an orangey color... not true orange at all... but a lighter tan-orange. It is an oval, almost football shaped pill. I only take half of one at a time!

I was thinking allergies too...
I still wouldn't rule that out for sure...

currently sick on a cold right now... nothing seems to work for me.

So far i tried, Zicam, Robitussin and Nyquil. Nothing is working...

Will try advil tonight.

I was going to suggest Advil Cold and Sinus too but the gel caps since I find they work so much faster.

However, it totally makes sense now why I can't find Advil C&S on the shelves when I go shopping in the US anymore. I had no idea it was a behind the counter thing and you had to show ID to buy it! Come to Canada - we leave out all the good medication on the shelves and as far as I know, there is no daily limit! I guess this is why I can't find Advil Super Strength either? I can get the Advil 200mg but not the 400mg liquid-gels (the only thing that works on my migraines). It is so much cheaper to get medication in the US. Now, the only things I can get is the Target brand of Benedryl and Gravol. I guess you learn something new everyday

Thanks, he is feeling much better. He's outside getting some fresh air and playing basketball with his dad.
