We have a 9!30 adr at Cali Grill on Halloween night. Just checked the other forums and someone kindly told me HalloWishes is at 10pm. Our plan is to just do apps and desserts. We want to go out to the viewing area when the fireworks start. Since the adr is at 9!30 I am guessing the table will not get another turn so we can leisurely enjoy our dinner and run out at the start of the fireworks. Anyone have any experience with dining there at this time??

Arrive slightly early to try and get seated on time. Order drinks and flatbread when you arrive. Hopefully you get the flatbread about 9:45-9:50. So hopefully you are done with that just in time to watch fireworks. Then go back in for dessert.

Just tell the waiter/ess what your plan is and they can advise if the appetiser will be out early enough for you to see fireworks in the break between courses. :)

Servers at California Grill are very much accustomed to people getting up from their table to watch fireworks. Last time we were there, we were in the middle of entrees when it was fireworks time, and the actually brought out one of those silver domed plate covers to put over my wife's filet so that it would help it stay warm. (I had sushi, so keeping mine warm was not relevant.) Not sure how they might deal with a flatbread, but they'll do whatever they can to ensure that you get to see fireworks with minimal effect on your meal. Love it up there.

Echoing Kimosabe's experience, every time we've eaten close to Wishes, the server asked us if we were going out to watch. If we said yes, he delayed service of our appetizers, entrees, or dessert until we returned.

I think it's all going to depend on when you're seated. If you're seated on-time and order right away, there is a chance that that the flatbread/app will come out before you head out for fireworks. As others have said, most of the server will work with you and help you pace the meal so that you don't end up with cold food. I've only had one server that did not seem to know what to do; so most of them seem to know to either hold the order until after fireworks or bring something to keep the dishes warm while you're away.

With a 9:30 reservation you will probably get seated and have time to order the apps, but I would let the server know you want to go outside to watch HalloWishes so ask that the apps not be served until afterwards. Most of the servers are very good about pacing meals and are very used to the majority of guests going outside to see Wishes. Only once did we have a server who may have lost track of the time or maybe she was new because she didn't want to wait until after Wishes, but that was an exception to all of our other experiences.
