Coke Zero

They don't carry caffiene free coke products (and, when you think about it - coke has ALOT of different products)...I think they should carry that before different girations of diet/coke.

JMO.

In December 2004, I saw several Gold Caffine Free Diet Coke fountains at MGM. Maybe it was a test activity, but they were definately there.

I like the Coke Zero but still prefer diet coke. As for the Splenda version, it is plain nasty! And yes aspartame has been suggested to maybe increase headaches in certain individuals, but IMHO I think it's hogwash. And if you think aspartame is going to kill you might want to consider some larger issues before that such as the air we breath and the things we touch.

This made me so sad to read, as many people were being supportive. How can something be suggested to increase headaches (and sooooo much more) and still be "hogwash". I find that very insulting to those of us who have shared our personal problems from this particular chemical.

It is like smoking. I wouldn't tell anyone else that they do not have the right to smoke, but saying aspartame related health problems are "hogwash" is the same as saying that cigarette related health problems are "hogwash" as both have been proven untrue.

First, I meant no disrespect to anyone who feels that aspartame negatively affects their bodies, and if you read my first post on the subject you will see that I did in fact say so.

Secondly, for any amount of evidence that you can provide "proving" that aspartame is harmfull to humans, there is equally as much evidence that it does not harm the vast majority of people. Again, notice that I said majority, not that it does not/cannot affect anyone at all.

Here is a link for example: http://caloriecontrol.org/response.html

I have heard all the stories and did some research (not a lot) because my DW and I have recently starting drinking Crystal Light, etc., which are made with aspartame. I did not find enough to convince me not to drink it, and since it hasn't bothered either of us yet, I will continue. If other people find it has negative effects on them, then by all means don't use it. But just as I can't make a blatant blanket statement by saying that it is impossible for aspartame to do anything bad, neither can anyone else say that it does do bad things to everyone... :confused3

I can only say what aspartame does to me. I would like to see DIet Coke with Splenda sold in the carts for several reasons. First because I could then have a soda like the rest of the world when I visit Disney. I think it will be a while before it is seen in the restaurants. Also it would be convenient since you can't get iced tea in the carts and have to go into one of the CS restaurants to get it. Water gets pretty boring and ends up warm by the time you finish the bottle.

Hmmm. Let us look into the source of that article.

The Calorie Control Council, established in 1966, is an international non-profit association representing the low-calorie and reduced-fat food and beverage industry. Today it represents 60 manufacturers and suppliers of low-calorie, low-fat and light foods and beverages, including the manufacturers and suppliers of more than a dozen different dietary sweeteners, fat replacers and other low-calorie ingredients.

The Council supports the availability of FDA-approved low-calorie sweeteners (i.e., acesulfame potassium, aspartame, neotame, saccharin and sucralose), fat replacers and other low-calorie ingredients, including polyols. The Council also supports the approval of alitame, and reapproval of cyclamate.CCC HomepageThe approval of additional safe low-calorie sweeteners, fat replacers and other dietary ingredients for those wanting or needing them is encouraged. The public will be served best by a variety of low-calorie ingredients, with each allowed to find its most effective role in the marketplace.

I'll translate this.

"We support nearly any darn thing we want to put in your food and drink. If some sucker will buy it, we should be able to sell it. We are against labelling laws. We support labelling it as good for you even if it isn't. We even support hydrogenating oils as a dietary alternative to saturated fats. Never mind the fact that hydrogenating is nothing more than saturating a previously unsaturated fat. And look at this. All the studies we funded concluded nothing we put into the food is bad for you. So don't trust any of those doctors and independent groups that say otherwise. Eat up. And Drink up.
