We are heading down to Disney this weekend and my MIL gave our kids 50 dollars each in american dimes (unwrapped and in plastic containers). Here in Canada there are coin sorters at grocery stores and some department stores where it will sort and collect the coins and give us a slip to exchange at a cashier for bills. Are there similar machines in the USA and what stores typically have these?

Thanks in advance,

Coinstar is a company that maintains this sort of machine. You can get a list of their locations on their website http://www.coinstar.com I will caution you that there is a fee of somewhere close to 10% for doing this. However, you can get gift cards instead, and it won't charge you the fee. I typically get gift cards for the grocery store when I cash in my change at this machine to avoid losing the fee.

Thanks for the quick reply and I was aware of the fee, but good to know about the gift cards
