Coffeemaker in room at AKL

I read on the FAQ that you must request a coffemaker for your room. Do we do this before we leave or when we check in? Would there be a possibility that we would not be able to get one? My mother HAS to have a coffemaker! Also, is there a charge for the coffemaker itself? I know that Mom would prefer to use her own coffee; she's rather picky about the brand of coffee she drinks.
 
My only information is that you can request one upon check in...(usually not a problem)....
I would suggest calling/faxing ahead to make sure that you have one in your room....
sounds like the AKL is going to be "busy" for the upcoming holiday period...due to other resort refurbishings....
Call ahead...just to put your mind at ease.....

You actually don't 'call ahead'. After you check in you need to call the housekeeping department to have one delivered to your room, no charge.
 

We just stayed at AKL last month. As soon as you get in your room call Mousekeeping and request a coffeemaker. There is no charge, the staff will bring it with styrofoam cups and the coffee packets with sugar, cream, stir sticks, etc. They only give you a 2 day supply of coffee - after that you need to go to the front desk and ask for more coffee. At least that's what the Mousekeeping staff told me - I talked him into giving us an extra coffee packet and the fourth morning when to Boma's for breakfast.
 
1houraway, you didn't have to pay for your coffee then? I read on here that they usually charge you for the coffee.
 
When I requested a coffeemaker, they brought me coffee at no charge.
