Coffee - Where to find the BEST cups in the World

"Are you a starbucks person or a dunkin donuts person. I personally go for dunkins and I love love love the coffee at Kona. That being said you can't pay me to drink that stuff from a starbuck kiosk."

I think what you meant is do you like your coffee watered down so it really no longer tastes like coffee ala Dunkin Donuts or do you like a good strong cup of coffee that actually tastes like coffee ala Starbucks. The Starbucks at the Prime outlet mall (5 minutes driving from DTD) is not a kiosk it is a full cafe plus it is directly across from the character warehouse. You can get your discounted WDW souvenirs plus a decent cup of coffee in one easy trip. Keep in mind that this plan is really intended for guests with a rental car.

I'm bringing my own form home, and filling mug every morning. We are staying at SSR so akl and the poly are out for my morning cuppa.

There is (was?) a coffee bar in the lobby of the Contemporary that I thought did a much better job then the restaurants. It simply amazing how bad it is across the parks.

The coffee at Spoodles was good last week.

I did the same! I brought my community coffee :goodvibes

Make sure to have the 4 cup basket style coffee filters for the room.... TP doesn't work so well as a filter :rotfl:

In MGM there is a shop called "The writers stop"?? It is a small coffee shop with decent coffee....Must have coffee!;)

I had my best cup of coffee at Animal Kingdom at the Rib place, (Flame Tree Barbacue). No lie, it was the best coffee I have had ever. My husband was laughing histerically because everytime I took a sip, I said, 'oh, this is good, the best'-anyway, I asked at the counter what they use and he said it was liquid Nescafe, (not grounds), made only for Disney. You have to try it.

Now that's just wrong--it's probably the one place I would never be in the mood for coffee.
:surfweb:

Now, come on, it was a cold day, I was feeling my mid afternoon slump. why are you dissin me?
Try it, it is the best.

Oh not dissin you--couldn't be happier for you. It's just despair over the fact that they've put the best coffee in the place I'd want it the least.

I have heard on these boards that the pressed pot of coffee at Kona is awesome ! I have yet to try it! But I will be this trip!

Kona for sure !
And you can purchase a bag of grounds to go !

KOna cafe, you can either buy in the restaurant or to take away at the Kona Isle next door - I'm not a fresh coffee person but I love this stuff.

The Kona pressed pot was good, but their house coffee is good as well.

We love Kona cafe for breakfast as well as just the coffee. If u don't have time to stop though the Kona Isle does a selection of pastries to go with your take out coffee.

Coffee kiosk at Poly = coffee bar at Kona. To clarify, they are the same thing. Second floor of GCH on monorail station side, adjacent to Kona Cafe. I second...third...fourth the nomination of the pressed pot. Worth having breakfast at Kona for that (Tonga Toast isn't terrible, either).

ETA: When we stay at the Poly, we always grab our coffee before heading out. One more reason to stay there!

Brookelizabeth,

If you have breakfast at the Kona Cafe, order a pressed pot of Kona Coffee. If you have breakfast at Boma, order a pressed pot of Kenyan Coffee. Both of these coffees are excellent.:goodvibes

Kona Press Pot .... definitely worth the trip!
:coffee:

Whoa! Kona it is!! :rotfl: I wanted to do breakfast there anyway, so perfect! Thank you iloveeeyore for the exlanation of the coffee bar.

I am SO glad to hear there is gooooooood coffee at the World!

And for the record, I enjoy both Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts, BUT, I prefer Dunkin'. Most of all, I like Caribou Coffee, which I have only found here in Minnesota! It's the best!!!!

ok, I started compiling the info found on this thread, here's what I've got so far... (Sorry don't know where the McDonald's is located... anyone?)

Places in DW with Good Coffee (vs. NESCAFE everywhere else)...

In Resorts -
Boardwalk Resort - Spoodles restaurant
Contemporary Resort - coffee bar in the lobby
Coronada Springs Resort - Counter
Polynesian resort - Kona Cafe you can either buy in the restaurant or to take away at the Kona Isle next door - and O'hanas
Swan/Dolphin hotel - Starbucks
Animal Kingdom Lodge - Boma

At Theme Parks -
Animal Kingdom Park - Right before entering the AK gate...when walking up WAY over to the far right (near the souvenir stands) is a GREAT coffee stand. In Africa they have another one of these coffee stands. Also at their Rainforest Cafe.
Epcot - right before you come to Mexico (from Future world). There is another in America.
Hollywood Studios - The Writers Stop
Other locales:
McDonalds - location ????
Starbucks at the Prime outlet mall - 5 min. from DTD (really need a car)

TIPS -
If you can't use your DDP snack credits for coffee, you know it's good coffee!
Bring your own 4-cup coffee filters, disposable travel cups w/lids, and sugar/splenda minis from home then buy a small carton of 1/2 and 1/2 in the gift shop.

personally, I'm a tea lover - England's Tea Caddy... here I come! However, DH loves a good cup of coffee now and again so I bought him a single-cup french press last year. He thinks it's the BEST GIFT ever (you just need to remember to buy the "coarse" grind coffee). Try it, you'll like it! :woohoo: :woohoo:

A mod should REALLY sticky the coffee thread somewhere!!!!

Every day I see post about where the good stuff is hidden:rotfl: :surfweb:

Ahhh, the joys of Nescafe.

I'm not sure where you're staying, but there's a coffee kiosk at the Poly that has good coffee. The quick service counter at the Coronado Springs Resort apparently also has non-Nescafe. One of my friends that was staying with us there last week went down to the lobby in search of real coffee and reported that when asked, the cast member said, "No, is not Nescafe .... is Italian blend!" It was pretty good.

Oh mom is going to love me for pick CSR when I go and get her java in the morning!! Thanks for writing this.

Too bad Starbucks isn't Disney's coffee sponser!

I agree...I'm one of the weird ones who actually likes the liquid Nescafe! And I consider myself a coffee snob...I drink Kona at home!

When you were standing in line for coffee at one of those stands, and a CM told you the brand of "foreign" coffee they sell....was the name of it maybe Douwe Egbert?
