Can anyone please verify what kind of filters they use? DH an I are having a tiff about what was there last year. I was getting ready to but canned coffee and filters and he said they take the filter packs ,can someone please verify?

Thanks so much in advance.

In the past all DVC resorts have had the same coffeemaker, a 12 cup Mr. Coffee that used flat bottom filters. However, in last 18 months DVC has slowly been replacing the 12 cup Mr. Coffees with 4 cup coffeemakers or even single shot pod coffeemakers (which really belong to the cash resorts). I asked Member Satisfacation why they were changing things because it was so confusing as to what kind of filters and coffee to bring and they said that members complained that they were not using the 12 cup coffeemakers because they had the DDP and didn't need 12 cups each morning. My reaction was what? Tell that to all of the members that don't do the DDP. Anyway you can always request either a 4 cup coffeemaker or a 12 cup coffeemaker. (The pod ones really belong to the cash resort side so they shouldn't be placed in DVC rooms.) So bring flat bottom filters and coffee for the 12 cup and if you don't have that type of coffeemaker call housekeeping and request a 12 cup Mr. Coffee when you get to your room.

DVC provides coffee in filter bags like so many hotels have switched to but they fit the coffeemaker in the room.

Thanks so much for your response. Sounds like my best bet would be to take those filter packs.

I have not heard of any DVC rooms that have the single pod coffee makers. Where did you have that Denlo? And I have to say MS gave such a silly comment about people complaining they didn't need a 12 cup coffee maker. Nobody has to make 12 cups - that's why they have markings on them. :rolleyes1

We've always had 12 cup machine. If you don't have the 12 cups you can call housekeeping for one. We bring coffee and filters - flat bottom. Some might get confused over pods because the coffee packs they leave are coffee sealed in the filters to make it convenient but it's still just a regular coffee maker.

It happens occasionally by accident. There several folks who were posting that they only got the pod coffeemakers in their DVC villa. I've never gotten one. But we have been given a 4 cup coffeemaker. I still think having the same coffeemaker in all DVC rooms is the way to go.

Interesting. I haven't read hardly any trip reports for awhile so I hadn't seen any reports about that. All I had seen was questions from people for the past couple years who thought that DVC had gotten the single cup coffee makers when the resorts did.

Still - like most kitchen items housekeeping can bring a large one if someone ends up with something different.

I have to admit that it was the posts with conflicting answers that made me write to Member Satisfaction. I was hoping when first conversing with the posters that they really were in the hotel section of the resorts not a DVC room, but they weren't. And then to have the CM give me an answer about comments sort of blew my mind. I explained that many DVC members shop for groceries for their kitchens or kitchenettes and it would be nice to know in advance as to the size of coffeemaker in the room. And then she confirmed we could always request a different coffeemaker.
