Can anyone clue me in as to how much water to put in to use one of the coffee packs that they give you? If you give me an answer in "Cups" please tell me if you mean cups according to the lines on the pot, or cups as in measuring cups.

I cannot get it right.

I bring Maxwell House coffee filter packs with me and they are supposed to be for 4 cups, but I finally figured that for my taste, they mean 3 Measuring cups, 24 fluid ounces which is 4 coffee cups each 6 fluid ounces.

Please help!!

I think "coffee cups" are generally considered 5 to 6 ounces. Notice you never actually get 12 cups of coffee from a "12 cup" pot.

Not sure this will help. We like our coffee somewhere between medium and strong. I filled the Pot up 3/4 of the way and it was pretty good! In fact, I was kind of bummed when everyone else came down and started drinking it!

Actually, I thought the coffee they provided had a pretty good taste! It is better then the Maxwell House stuff my wife buys!

Tell you what Bobbie - if you can rent me a Studio for the week, I will take care of making coffee for you in the morning and cocktails in the afternoon! This is one less thing you will need to worry about and I think it will enhance the Vacation experience! Let me know when I need to be down there!

Oh you make me smile!!! My DH says that I am not allowed to invite anymore people to come with us...., but I would....Here's hoping we overlap sometime, I'd love to meet you!! (I am working real hard at not calling our guide for a small add on!!!)

See, it's the 3/4 of the way that gets me, but I'll keep trying!!!

We use the filterpaks also. We like our coffee strong and we use 2 paks for 6 cups of water.

And for the best coffee, do yourself a favor, and buy a gallon of drinking water from the store. The Florida water has a lot of sulfur and makes some pretty nasty coffee in my opinion. We bring our own grinds (Folgers) and filters from home and don't have any problems. :thumbsup2

You're right about the water. I don't think it is sulpher, because I have that at my home and it is different. I think it almost has a sodium air to it. I think it must be related to how Disney refines their water because I notice it at all the resorts.

They need to open a Starbucks on the property, so I can get my latte fix. :teeth:

We have found that one of the ways to "improve" the water at Disney, both for our morning coffees and our water-bottle fillups is to put the water in the night before (both in the pot and in the drinking bottles) and let it sit overnight.
Got the idea from when we use to keep fish and had to clean and refill the tanks..........I figured that if it made the water better for our fish, it might do the same for us. And it did! :rotfl:

At HH I filled the coffee pot to the 8 mark and I think it was good cup of coffee. Hope this helps.
Maybe one of the resorts will put a Starbucks in so we don't have to up our valuable vacation time fixing coffee or will just ask a Diser to come down with us and fix the coffee and afternoon mixers. :teeth:

Yes, we do that too, as far as the fish. I'll try that as well as the other suggestions for "amount" of water.
