Coffee on 7DMT

or any beverage of any temp for that matter... on a ROLLERCOASTER)

I carry bottled water with me all the time on coasters. So it's not ANY beverage.

When we were there in January a guy took his coffee on Everest, so with that in mind, 7DMT should be a piece of cake. He hid his coffee in his jacket pocket before getting on the ride and then pulled it back out and took a sip after the ride. I don't know how it didn't spill and could not believe what I was seeing. I still wonder if it was a joke and the cup was empty.

Might have been a joke. Maybe not. Especially if it was poured into a refillable mug with the little close-y thing on top I can see it being possible.

I will admit I have taken starbucks coffee on 7DMT. Not hot, it was an iced drink, about half way empty that I put in my bag. So if it spilled, it would have only gotten on my own stuff. But it was fine and I had no issues.

Makes sense to me.

And it's not like the "coaster" in question is THAT big in the forces continuum.

I'd rather drink it up though.

I was referring to drinks like those served at Starbucks, open containers, lidded drinks like fountain beverages etc.

As another pointed out upthread, if the coffee was transferred into a sealable container (like, say, an empty water bottle) you could conceivably tuck it into your bag and bring it on board.

As for carrying things in ones hand on a coaster...not a good idea. Be it a cell phone, camera or a bottle of water.

Carrying anything in your hand or even an unsecured pocket is so dangerous. Think about you or someone in your party getting hit with an item. Use some sense please.

Just you know, let us know when you're going so we can stand by with our cameras to capture you calmly sipping your coffee while 7D takes those gentle drops along the way.

This is what I keep picturing. OP calmly and serenely sipping a nice hot drink, kicking back relaxing as the ride dips and turns and whizzes around corners. No, it is not a terribly crazy coaster, but it's not IASW either.

I see we've had a lot of fun on this thread, but in all seriousness I take the OP's meaning to be about taking the drink into the ride queue. You can do that, but you will have to throw it away before boarding. There is nowhere you can put it to claim it after the ride. There will be a trash can shortly before boarding and a CM will direct you to finish it if they see you with it. So, if you have are entering a lengthy queue you can just take the coffee. You can take items in bottles with caps on them onto rides. As long as they seal they are fine.

SDMT CM's won't allow you in the FP line with a drink, standby is probably different. All three times we rode, we had people in front of us have to step out and either finish their drink or throw it away before they were allowed to tap into the line.

Yeah, that makes sense for the FP line since it moves so fast. You'd barely have a chance to drink something. I know I have taken a drink into the standby side though. There is a reason there are several trash cans along the way.

Yeah I had to CHUG an entire refillable mug of coffee while we briskly raced down the FP queue for Haunted Mansion. THAT was fun.

I thought the wait would take longer, but it didn't... :(

Again, another reason to carry Ziplocs! I had to shove the empty mug into one so it didn't drip all over the inside of the bag.

Thanks for the laughs this morning!!
But seriously...... if you get iced coffee, or it has cooled enough, take it and pour it into an empty water bottle, seal it up with the cap, in your bag and ready to ride!!!
I always do this with my iced tea! :thumbsup2

Last time we rode SDMT in the fp line, the people in front of us had pizza, hotdogs and drinks. They hadn't even started eating them yet. They weren't trying to hide anything or be discreet about it. The CM's didn't blink an eye. Nobody said a thing to them. I was really surprised. I lost track of them when we were sent down to the front of the ride to board. We were on the ride within five minutes of entering the fp line, so I doubt if they had a chance to finish eating/drinking everything. Maybe they boarded with their food. Who knows.
