Coffee makers at HoJo

I was looking through the hotel review/photo post, and saw DisneySuite's post about the single use coffee makers at the HoJo. Can anyone confirm or deny that they are in all the rooms now? Can you request a regular one? We always bring our own coffee, so this would be a little different for us. Plus, why pack coffee if we can't use it? Just checking if anyone has the skinny.

As far as I know, they have the Keurig style coffee makers in all the rooms now. I'm not sure if you can request an old-style one, but that would be a great question for lorealle, who you can email at lorealle.bishop@hojoanaheim.com

We were just there in March and they do have the Keurig's now. We were actually thirlled with that as that's what we have at home. haha We bought the basket accessory that allows us to use our own coffee/tea/cocoa since we had one who doesn't do coffee.

Not to rain on anyone's parade but we were not impressed. Our first machine was broken, and after it was replaced, eh, the coffee was pretty gross. To be fair, we are BIG coffee drinkers -- have an expensive pot at home, burr grinder, and order our beans straight from Peets so as to get them just 2 days after they've been roasted -- and we are very picky.

I am thinking about trying to make the most out of the new pots, by maybe bringing a variety of the flavors that Keurig offers. Does anyone know if the pots in the HoJo are a standard size? Also, I haven't used this coffee, so does anyone have any recommendations on which types taste the best?

I gotta say, I was kind of impressed.

We too love our coffee (Seattleite and all...) we have hated all coffee at DLR in the past. This trip we brought some Via (freeze dried coffee packets from Starbucks).

We tried the Keurig and thought it was decent. It is the BEST? No, but it was about 100% better than anything else in the area.

Of course, our expectations for coffee when we go to DLR is low, due to past experiences. The coffee at HoJo's is now .

Just a FYI we were there in March too and they also sell flavors, creamers, sugar packets and Cocoa in the lobby.They were pretty cheap too! It didn't take very long at all to make. The only down side was that I couldn't fit my travel coffee mug under neath so I had to put it in the paper cup and then my cup. But other then that we liked it. There were all kinds of flavors to choose from.

I'm with you, I wasn't really impressed. I didn't think the coffee was good at all

Ok so let me clarify as far as not being at home near my coffee set up or favorite coffee shop. As far as convince goes it was good. I'm telling you it's all about the creamer and sugar packets! LOL!

There were all kinds of flavors to choose from.

Oh, this is exciting! I am glad that I can just wait until we are there and stock up on a few flavors. I am not normally a fan of flavored coffee, since it tends to be weak, and I like a bold brew, but it will be fun to try something new.

Dh and I got a little carried away in the gift shop but it was fun!! ; o ) I like my coffee stronger too but it was good for what it was. It would be fun in the winter to make the Cocoa one for my two oldest Dd (8 and 9) to bring into the park with them!

We LOVED the coffee it was so easy and fun to make, and had a rich, bold flavor. It was this brand when we were there in March 2010:

The room was stocked with Columbia type of that brand.

We are here now and Dh is a big coffee drinker usually drinks blue mountain Jamaican or Costa Rican coffee... and he was really impressed.. every morning so far he has said that it is the best hotel room coffee he has had..

Yes. Is it the BEST cup of coffee ever? NO.

Comparing other "in-hotel" coffee makers, is it good? Yes. Very good.

Is there somewhere to buy the Cocoa? The one given, Diedrich Coffee doesn't have it (or I couldn't find it). Thanks
