Coffee Filters?

Are coffe filters provided at deluxe resorts (AKL)? If not are coffee pots full size (10-12 cups) or smaller? Working on the packing list.

I remember coffee filters being in our room and I believe the pot was a 8-10 cup? Sometimes my mind is not perfect! Hope someone else posts to confirm what I remember. Maybe just call and ask the resort before you go.

I"m almost positive it was a 4 cup little pot, and they coffee pack they provided was encapsulated in it's own filter. We're bringin our own beans, and 4 c. coffee filters on our next trip....if my info is wrong, I need to know about it STAT so I can switch it out!

ETA: All Ears states on their fact sheet for AKL that there are "small coffee maker with packets of coffee"

At most of the deluxes it is a small 4 cup coffee pot. DH and I were each able to get two small mugs out of the pot each morning. They don't give you filters persay. What you get is a coffee packet -- i..e a closed/sealed filter with coffee already in it that is appropriately sized for a 4 cup coffee pot.

We wanted to take some of the premade coffee packets like that, that they sell in stores but the store ones are for a regular sized coffee pot and wouldn't fit in the in coffee maker. Also, I don't think that regular coffee filters will fit. You probably willl have to trim them down.

There are definitely small 4 cup pots and AKL provides prefilled coffee packs for them. We were just there in June and I am sure of that. You can always ask mousekeeping to bring up more coffee packs if you need them. There is no charge for this, but you can tip them. Then if you leave the mousekeeper a note when you leave in the morning, she will leave as many as you ask for. It sure is nice to have coffee on your private patio looking at all the animals in the morning. Lucky you!

Having been forewarned about the not-so-great in-room coffee at WDW resorts, in 2008 we brought our own 1-pound bag of Dunkin' Donuts dark roast and standard 4" coffee filters. As others have said, the coffee makers are the small 4-cup kind (which really equtes to 2 mugs), and standard 4" coffee filters fit the basket at the top.

The Poly had the 4 cup coffeemakers and they did leave the pre-packaged coffee. However, if we stay for several days, we always take our own coffee and filters. And........

We ALWAYS use bottled water in the coffeemaker. The Florida water will wreck the taste of even the best coffee!!

At AKL, they sell a great coffee in the gift ship. It's in a burlap sack and says it's roasted exclusively for AKL by Joffrey's in Tampa. It's a real good Kenyan. I usually get that while I'm there if I don't bring my own.

Yes that is why coffee is on our the packing list hehe. Actually bringing my small cappacino maker since I have a hard time drinking the regular coffee DH drinks (I like flavored coffee). Also relying on the fridge for my skim milk. Edited to add: a few glasses of wine in the eve on the balcony will be nice.

But the villas, 1 and 2 BR, have 8-10 cup coffee makers. It sounds like you're in AKL, not AKV, but just wanted to note that for any others who read this thread (not sure about the Studios...)

Yes, at the studios too the coffee pot is the 10-12 cup kind (sometimes 10-12), depends. This is one of the many perks of owning DVC. I also noticed the OP asked about microwaves too. Don't know if you can rent them, but they are all standard in the DVC studios, and larger rooms. The studio microwave is a smaller dorm size, but works great. The larger DVC rooms have full size microwaves. Keep in mind that the frig in the mods and delux rooms are standard dorm frigs, but the frigs in the DVC studios actually have a small freezer section -- I like to freeze my water bottles so that they stay cold longer.
