Going back to my happy place in March. Does anyone know if the coffee counter next to Kona Cafe is open? If not, where can I get their special delicious brew on property? Along with the Tonga Toast, my happy day becomes extraordinary!! TIA

Kona Island has not yet reopened.

Tonga Toast is available at Kona Cafe (reservations required, limited walk up may be available), Kona Cafe To Go (order using MDE mobile app), and Capt. Cook's (quick service location on the ground floor).

We ate at Kona Cafe in December and it looks like they are using Kona Island as a staging area for the wait staff. That's where they were bringing drinks from and they also have tables in the hall outside the restaurant near where Kona Island is. I don't think it will reopen in its original capacity until after the distancing measures are relaxed. I did see someone walk up to the podium and ask for a specialty coffee and they went back there and made it for them in a to go cup. Maybe the Kona To Go ordering in the app will let you order the special drinks?
