Coffee at AKL

According to these boards, my deluxe Savannah room does not come with a coffee pot or fridge. If I ask for a coffee pot it will be delivered but comes with only one pot's worth of coffee.

What size will the filter be? DH and I are meeting adult kids there and my dream is to sip coffee with them and watch the giraffes snacking. So, I expect to drink a lot of coffee. I'll bring a variety of coffees from home but will also need filters. Size 2 or 4 cone? Small or regular basket?

Is there a spot on site that sells creamers?

I'd call AKL directly and ask. I bet you could ask for extra coffee or filters, since they are providing the coffeemaker. And you can probably purchase cream at Mara or at the Marketplace (which had limited grocery items when we were there), but again, call the resort and ask.

we were at AKL in February in a standard room and had a coffee maker and fridge. Apparently all the deluxe rooms have this as of January '05. The coffee is replenished each day by housekeeping. To the best of my recollection ours was a 4 cup coffee maker with basket filters. The coffee provided is a little on the wimpy side (at least for my taste). You can get milk downstairs in the marketplace.

The coffee makers are 4 cup that can hold flat bottom filters, not cone shaped ones. When we were there last year we brought our own filters and coffee because the stuff they left each day just did not cut it. After a day of not using theirs, they no longer left any. We went to the market place to get half and half each night. When we were there, the rooms did not come with refrigerators, so we put the little creamers in the ice bucket at night and it was good and cold in the morning.

We had a coffee maker and fridge in our standard savanna view room last fall. Sorry, we didn't use the coffee maker; so I can't tell you about the filters.

Just got back, and the above is correct on the coffee. DH used the pot everyday, and said the coffee was passable, but not great. He did really enjoy the pot of pressed Kenyan coffee he got at Boma.
