Has anyone received their Sunday (3/6) newspaper yet? I know that some of the diser's in larger cities receive their Sunday newspapers on Saturday afternoon.

Just wondering if any codes were published as there are rumors that discount codes may come out tomorrow.

Thanks!

good question, but there are tons of rumors flying around on these boards as to when the codes are coming,

Boy I would love it if they had a code in tomorrow's newspaper!!!
maybe I should run out and get one???

I will have an early edition in about 1 hour--will get in on the way to work--we post later on results.

Hi everyone I am from NYC and looking through the sunday(3/5) travel section and NOTHING disney- no codes, no ads!!!!!!!! :confused3

This may I say is unusual- disney ALWAYS has something in the travel section of the NY times even if it is just a list of the seasons prices!!

I think they have poured alot of $$$$ into tv ads and I have heard it is working!!! business it is at a high !!!

....PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE
(mind you, I am only saying this because I have no choice but to wait and see what happens!)

Nothing in the Boston Globe advertisment section (we get the Sunday stuff on Saturday). Will check the travel section tomorrow for you.

Nothing in the Phila area either. Actually if I remember correctly the AP rates opened up about a week or less before the general public codes that are in the travel sections of the Sunday newspapers.. I'm hoping for AP codes this week and maybe the general codes will be in next SUndays travel section.

Our good friend who just left Disney and was high up and still has a lot of friends that work there called for me this morning to see if he could find out anything. He was told that Disney is in no hurry to release any discount codes as they are doing so well with the packages that they may not need to. The reason that Disney has the codes is to fill the resorts when business is slower.
As the years have gone on, the codes aren't always out. A few years ago there were always Florida resident codes out, I would even call last minute and always got them. Now, that's not the case. Look at the Disney cruise line. After September 11 it was easy to find a Fl. resident discount on the cruises, even during the summer months. Now, they're are so far scattered.
It will be very interesting to see what the next few weeks bring. I have my reservation for April 15 under the discount and a reservation for April 29th (the weekend I really want to go) without, I'll have to see what happens.

I jsut checked Sunday's paper for Tommorrow. Sorry to say nothing!! :confused3 not even a ad about resort prices or tickets.

I finallt broke down and called the CSR at Disney and got my 'rate' for the Conteporary Resort (611 for the two days we will be there :sad2: ). But that will be fine with us. Its going to have to be.

I did ask if she thought that the room may have some sort of sell on it, and she told me that it might the closer we get to our trip. She told me to just keep looking. So just so that I wont be left out in the cold, I got my room at the rack rate for now!

:badpc:

Hi: Here in Ontario, Canada I just saw an ad on television for the family of 4 stay at a value and passes 6 night stay and 7 day passes for $1500 -- So I wonder if this is going to be the special with no additional codes.

For us we already have passes so I need a discount on the room rate. Or I might just wait a year to travel again.

Deb.

I just read an article about Disney World in the business section of my daily paper. The article said that 2004 was the worst year for Disney since 2000 (before 911) and they are worried about the fact that the war on terror is scaring foreign travelers away from the US and Disney World is suffering as a result.

I guess I wouldn't give up hope on codes after reading that article. :wizard:

I just read the travel section in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and nothing in the even Disney related!

Sounds like the usual accuracy you get from journalists---foreigners are flocking to Disney because the dollar is weaker. And park and Disney resort attendance has been increasing signficantly---comments about the large crowds can be seen in discussion groups---And the annual report cited improvements at the theme parks as a major reason for increased earnings :smooth:

When we went 2 months ago I would say over half the part was made up of foreigners. We were also told it was because of the weak dollar. We have vouchers to get annual passes but will not use them until they can come up with some AP codes. We just cannot afford to.
