Codes for non AP holders

I will agree with all of the AP holders who are confused or upset about the new system. I have been reading a lot of the posts and I still do not see how this can benefit AP holders. My question is are they going to do away with codes for us who do not have AP? We try to go down about every six months and could only do this with the codes for the general public. Can anyone tell me what they have heard.

I am not winning about codes for non Ap holders I believe that AP holders should not even have to deal with codes. I believe that holders should pay a discounted rate based on the season to make it easier for them. Like I said I am just wondering if anyone has heard anything.

Thanks

Charleston Zurg,

Until we get some clarification we don't know much. I think alot of the confusion comes from what Disney consideres to be general public codes.

I think once Disney clarifies this a little, some of the confusion may go away.

There were no general room only codes offered during the summer season, but other "packages" that offered savings. So who knows! I wouldn't count on seeing any public room only codes, and if there are any, I think it's safe to say they won't be any better than the AP "best rates" they've offered so far - and those rates aren't as good as the AP rates offered this summer. I think bookings are up and they don't feel the need to offer as many discounts. Keep in mind this is all speculation on my part!

I don't think you'll see any more non-AP holder room only codes. Which is a shame. I agree with you, AP holders should simply get X% off. Period. Make it easy for everyone, us and DISNEY. I remember the good ol' days when they offered room only discounts to the general public. I took advantage of lots of those. I hope they come back, but I think they are relying on their MYW w/dining package to fill their quotas. As they say in Disney marketing: heads in beds and clicks through the gate. Seriously, they say that. I use to work there.

No I don't believe they will release general public codes. I know they used to release Canadian resident codes and things like that but they seem to have gone away in favour of the package deals.

We got a good code in 2002 and a good code this past March. I really don’t think WDW will do away with the room only codes as they had packages the last two times we went along with the room only codes. I just think they will continue to not publicize the room only codes and really but the packages. I can only stay on site if there is a code of some type and I will go for a package if it will save me money.

Don't forget that the new Chase Disney credit card is gearing up to offer specials of all types to their card holders. They are offering "card holder only" packages, too, apparently.

We got an excellent deal on a package last year with Disney Visa. Since then, they haven't offered anything for a WDW stay. I thought there would be more perks to this card (other then the offers that come in the statement to order merchandise, hoopde doo!)

I agree! I am hoping that Chase will bring about many more offers for card holders as they are a bigger company and are even advertising the card (as well as their others) on television. We'll see....

I just received a registration form in snail mail from Chase to send in for a voucher for a fly1get1free. If you charge over $200 between June 1 and July 31 they'll send you one. I also received my new cards - I went with the one with Mickey, Donald, and Goofy on it - it is sooooo cute!! Hope to see more good things from Chase!

If the general public codes disappear than so do we!

Have you heard when those might come out? Are they generally pretty good?
