Hi there,

I am new to researching the discount codes. There seems to be some great discounts out there - but for AP members. How are discounts for non-AP members? We only go one week a year so I am not sure if its worth us getting an AP just to get a hotel discount - probably would not save money.

Just curious. Thanks

I'm in the same boat as you, and as a matter of fact, just called to see if there were any discounts attached to my name. For me, right now AAA is the best I can do, considering we only go for a total of a week, or less in a year. (altho this year has been a little better)
Why don't you sign up with Disney.com and maybe it will put you on the right list to get a code. Other than that, just call periodically to see if there's anything attached to your name...it's ok to do that!

there are currently codes out for the general public offering something like 13 per night off value, 40 off mod, 75 grandfloridian, 110 saratoga springs - these are good late july through late september for most days and have limited availability. something of this kind of nature comes out quite frequently. This yere they have given upgraded tickets a couple of times(hoppers and waterparks n more for the price of a base ticket - savings of close to 100 per person if you were buying them anyway), free dining (savings of 11 per day per child and 39 per day per adult), as well as the above mentioned code. I haven't seen figures for 2008, but currently if you are an AAA member you can get 10-20% off the hotel portion of your reservation. Since memberships are generally around $60, in most cases your membership will pay for itself within the first couple of nights giving you what could add up to a pretty good savings on a longer stay especially at a more expensive resort.

beth cam, I did get the AAA rate for our upcoming AKL concierge stay, however when I called to inquire as to the availability of the Poly or the GF at the same time, I was told that there were no AAA discounts for those at that time. I'm guessing the "limited availability" thing applies here..

It probably does, you could try calling back about the other resorts though to see if anything has opened up.
