Just wondering if they ever have discount codes for people without their AP in March. We've just decided to go during spring break and are now searching for a place to stay. We've always stayed in a moderate resort, but without a code, we really don't want to stay there and pay $175/night. We stayed at Buena Vista Suites last year because we only did Disney one day. We got a Mousesaver's rate of $89 with a full breakfast. Since we want to visit WDW for at least 5 days, we wanted to stay on the property again. Thanks for all your help. :confused3

with more than a couple of days the aaa membership should atleast pay for itself..then you have the added aaa coverage and little trip benefits they give.

I do have AAA but was hoping for a greater discount than just 10%. I guess I may just have to take that. I guess that's better than nothing.

I'm sure you probably did this already....but, have you figured out what the saving might be if you purchased an Annual Pass even if you aren't planning on returning within the next year.

Since you mentioned 5 nights....I know the discount in March on moderates is $66 per night x 5 nights would be a $330 savings. An annual pass would cost you $442. The cheapest 5 day discounted expiring base ticket I have seen around is $200. So, it would cost you (at the most) an additional $242 to upgrade from a 5 day ticket to an annual pass....but, you would save $330 plus tax on your room....so, you would probably end up saving at least $100 total.

Of course, I don't know your ticket situation....ie, are you planning on purchasing tickets before arriving or do you already have your tickets in hand? Also, what type of tickets are you planning on purchasing....expiring vs non-expiring....park-hopper vs non-park-hopper....pluses vs no pluses....etc?

How do you know the prices of Mods? What is the price of Delux. in March? We're in the same boat as the original poster. We've suddenly decided to go around spring break! I've looked into the AP but not sure how to find out the cost (disc) I'd receive on the mod/delux.

Mom2K....

These three pages from Mousesavers.com should give you an idea of what your room would cost. There is no guarantee that these discounts are available for your particular room type, but this may give you some idea to help you get started:

# 1 - 2006 Season Dates for Disney Resorts (if you already know your season, ie...value, regular, peak....you can skip this link):

http://www.mousesavers.com/seasondates2006.html

# 2 - 2006 Disney Resort "Rack" Rates

http://www.mousesavers.com/roomrates2006.html

# 3 - AP Discounts Released Up Until April 13th, 2006

http://www.mousesavers.com/disneyresorts.html#ap

Basically...the discounts are:

Now until February 4th....$30 off Value, $60 off Moderate, $96 off Deluxe.

February 16th until April 13th....$35 off Value, $66 off Moderate, $133 off Deluxe.

Just take the discount for your resort type in your time period and subtract it from the rack rate for your resort in your time period to get your room rate.

For example....the original poster was looking at a Moderate resort in March. That falls during Peak Season according to the first link. Then...I looked up the "rack" rate for a moderate during peak season using the 2nd link. This is $175 for a standard view at any of the 3 moderates. Then, I subtracted the $66 off from the 3rd link showing that Moderates are $66 off between Feb 16th and Apr 13th. That gives me a room rate before tax of $109 per night.

To break it down even further...the tax rate is 11.5%. One night at a moderate during peak season would be $175 x 11.5% for a total of $195.13 per night. Using the AP discount, that room would be $109 x 11.5% for a total of $121.54. That's a savings of $73.59 per night after taxes.....

If the OP is staying 5 nights and saving $73.59 per night, the total savings would be $367.95. The upgrade cost from a 5 day discounted hopper pass at $235 up to an Annual Pass at $442 would be $207.

So...it costs $207 to upgrade the ticket, but you save $367.95 on the room....so, you come out $160.95 ahead....plus you get the benefits associated with an AP.

If you are talking about after April 13th....then, you will need to wait patiently with the rest of us to see when/if they release codes for those dates.

mom2kyleegrace - I had many of the same questions you have today, yesterday. I found out what the discounts were, and when, but the big question is what Disney resorts actually have AP availability the dates you're considering.

I called CRO, gave her the resorts I was interested in and for what dates and told her I was looking for AP only, and learned exact cost and what was availalble. I was able to get Fort Wilderness cabins for an overall 550.00 savings from regular high season rates so booked it. I was interested in the Contemporary as well but nothing available with an AP rate for my dates.
