I posted this on Transportation but I am not sure how many people look there. I thought I might get more answers on the budget board. We are going in Feb to Mar 2003 and I am checking out car rentals. Does anyone have any advice for getting the best deals? Thanks

Check out Mary Waring's site @ www.mousesavers.com
Go to Walt Disney World
Then to Transportation
Then select rental cars

There is a list of great codes.

suevee..

I'm going the first week of March. So far, I haven't found any "awesome" deals. One poster suggested I might be trying "too far out"??

I have tried several codes, but I'm not really happy w/ any of the prices. Especially when I see other people getting a minivan for 199 wk!!! I think the best I have found is apprx 350-400. I'm still searching.

I would appreciate it if you would shoot me an email if you find a great deal!!!!

I used the code ENTERTAIN a few month ago and got a quote on line from Dollar for a full size car at $140.00 a week and $39.00 per day extra. I got a comfirmation number and just called to confirm and I'm ok.
That's seems great from what I have been seeing online. I just tryed the same code and got a higher quote.

Did anyone else use this code?

I used the KISS code at Dollar and got an intermidiate for $179 a week and $34 a day for 4 days. The KISS code allows no upgrade coupons or any other discount to be combined with it. With the tax, airport fees, etc included the total is $401. It is lower than Alamo, National, or Budget. I was told that this is in the middle of peak season because of school breaks and the prices will only rise. So I will keep on looking, but I will hold on to the ressie at Dollar.

I don't know how it would work for your time period, but we used the FISH code at Dollar, and got an ecomomy car for $119 (fees included) for 4 days. The rate is $22.99 per day.

I also think you are trying too far out. I was trying to book for Nov. 8 to the 23rd and dollar was not giving me a very good rate until today. Got the $199/week for a minivan, $500. with all taxes and fees in. I would suggest you book now with your company of choice and then keep looking for a better rate. Every time you get one, make a new reservation and cancel the old one. This approach will give you the security of having a car and insure that you get the best rate.

I also waited and ended up with a great rate for a mini-van for Oct. I would keep checking every week using the codes and when it comes up what you want, book it. You can also book it and if a better code and price comes in you can change it. I did. You just have to click on where it says modify or change reservation, I can't remember the exact wording. I then put in my reservation number, the new code and changed it and got the better rate. We're going again in April and right now the rates are too high so I keep checking and I will wait for the right rate.

Thanks everyone. I will definitely keep checking. Now, what about airfares? Do you think they will come down closer to my dates. I am afraid due to work I am not flexible and must book on specific dates.:D
