Code Targets

I agree with this. I stayed onsite in 2002 and haven't been since. I remember getting a card a couple of years ago but threw it away; don't remember what it was. Called last week and asked if there is a code for my household and they said YEP, and said that a card was sent out to me in August. I never got the got but we have our mail forwarded to a p.o. box so maybe it didn't get forwarded.

But I agree, they are giving the code to people they think might not come back otherwise.

I also wonder if they market to zip codes that are higher income areas. Makes sense that they would target households with more disposable income to be spent on things like vacations.

Sure looks like that. I haven't been to WDW since Feb 2005 and I have made reservations since, but for one reason or another they never worked out, but I got the e-mail pin code.

Are you able to tell me where you called to ask if there was a code under your household? We've never received a card or an offer. Just wondering if we might fall into the "target" market. Yeah... I'm dreaming!

When I asked about the code, I too was told only "target" areas. Asked what areas and CM responded New Jersey. Maybe he was trying to get off the phone with me. Who knows. But, I agree with the poster who said it probably goes out to "target"ed individuals or zips rather than states. From what's been posted here, that's the best explanation. But, right now, I think the dart might be making the decision:laughing: .

From Arkansas here, had one postcard in three years that we couldn't use. Thinking about going next year so I'll be wishing for a code then.

Who can I call to find out if we have a pin attached to our name??

I'm in MA and received a card. My parents, also from MA received one as well.

I'm in Idaho and we get at least 2 cards a year at our house. Nothing this year so I called and asked about anything for sept/oct 2007 and the gal told me that any deals for my area would come out in late April. Works for me I guess:confused3

I live in Knoxville, Tn and I received one for 40% off but it was only for dates in Feb and March. I did not receive any other ones, but I was one of the lucky few who were able to call and get "the" code booked for late October.

My sister who lives across the street got one for 30% off. We live in Wisconsin. Go figure, she doesn't go on any web sites, or does anything WDW related. She went 4 years ago during Easter-that's it.

OHMari - I grew up in FdL - :)

A fellow Wisconsinite with no code :(

We are going to disney about the same time as you and we also are from Texas. Are you driving or flying, if flying what airline? Got your tickets yet?

Can anyone describe what the cards look like? We do get mailings occasionally since we travelled in 2001 and signed up for the vacation planner back then.

I'm from Texas and no card for me or my mom. Last time I was there was November 2006; I guess I go there too often now. :confused3

I am in Mass. and didn't get a postcard in the mail. But got the code when I called :cool1:

I am in Louisiana and both myself and my sister recieved the postcards.

What part of Louisiana are you located? I have received nothing, my last trip was July 2005!

We are in Mandeville which is about an hour north of New Orleans. My last trip was November 2005 and my sisters was December 2005. Come to think of it she has never had reservations for rooms in her name because she always stays with her husbands aunt who is DVC. So they must have her name from buying tickets and event tickets.

Did you call CRO and ask about codes attached to your name because it could be there and they sent the info to the wrong address or email address or to someone who went with you on your last trip. You have until March 15 to book so call and ask them to check your name and the names of your family members for the code. I did this before I received my card and it showed the code there. I recieved the card a day later. HTH

I just called the 800# and asked if I had any pin/code & the CSR asked if I had received a postcard in the mail. I told her, "no." She said, "Then you don't have a pin #...if you don't have a postcard, you don't have a pin#.

Well the heck did I do wrong? Geez

BTW - I have already made reservations for Oct. 2007. Just hoping I can run upon a discount!

I received one...a tri fold post card if you will. Just promoted the Values..I think I rec'd it cause I ordered a new DVD planner and visited DIsneyParks.com site. My card said something abt you may get your Disney Vaca sooner than you think. We got 2 rooms for 3 nights, room only discount.

I would call back and talk to a different CM. Tell them you want them to check to see if you have a pin attached to your name. It may have gone to a different address or email and you would like to know if that is the case. If they check and tell you no then I would say accept that as no. But, without checking they can't know that you weren't supposed to get one that went to a wrong address or email. No harm in calling back and speaking to a more helpful CM who will at least pull up your name.
