I posted this in another post, but I am really wondering since codes expire in 3 days. When I booked AKL online, I placed a call to reservations desk first, as I couldnt find where to put in the code. This is a last minute type trip and yes I know I am lucky to find an available room at AKL. What my question is tho, is that when I called I asked to use the code on my reservation, and the operator told me that I could only get a standard room, or in my case being a family with 3 children, I would have to get 2 standard rooms in order to use the codes. I told her that online I could book a deluxe savannah room that holds 5, (not concierge) and she said I had better take the one online, since she had no showing of a deluxe room on her computer. She explained that sometimes they put more rooms online than in their computers....ok so that does not make sense. Anyway does anyone know why I could not use a code for a deluxe room??? Is there a way I can get them to apply it now that it is completely paid for on my cc???
Any any help would be appreciated, and even if I cant get the discount I will be happy, and my children are beyond happy to be going to AKL for the first time. We previously always stayed BC with the 3 kids and before the twins we stayed at CB.

Thank you all for the great advice!! I will be leaving in 6 weeks :bounce:

I suggest trying to call back again and speaking to a different CM. When I called last week to make our Polynesian reservation for August, during the course of the phone call, the first CM told me that:

It was too early to make a reservation this far in advance.
That there were no AAA discounts out yet this far in advance.
She also quoted wrong rates.

I knew she was wrong on all counts because a month ago I had called to get the rates for the exact days and with a AAA discount, and I could've booked it back then. This CM was VERY nice and told me she was new. I was polite to her, hung up, called back and got a great CM who was also nice and knew her way around their computer system. I was able to book our room with the AAA discount, and it was the same exact rate as I was told a month ago, so I knew it was correct.

My point is, over the years I've read so many times about people calling and getting CMs that frankly don't know what they're talking about and I just experienced this myself. When this happens, end the call politely and call back and speak to someone else. :)

I had a similar experience when making a ressie at the WL. I checked online and had a choice of a courtyard view or standard view. I wanted the courtyard view, filled in all the online info, and got my $ total, etc., but kept having computer trouble and couldn't get my confirmation. So I called Disney for the reservation. The CM I spoke to told me that the courtyard view was not available with the discount code. I explained how I was just online, and the courtyard view was, in fact, available at the discounted rate. She tried a few times, then told me to keep trying online, since she couldn't give me that rate. I then registered from another s/n, and had no trouble making the ressie for the courtyard view at the discount price.... Strange, right?

I think the internet and the CMs may have different inventories that they work from.
