Thinking about Eating at this restaurant on our Turn around day for the B2B, has anyone eaten here?

We live down the road and have eaten there many times. It's a restaurant popular with tourists and one of the very few in the county on the beach. It get's very crowded since the parking garage is across the street and people crowd the beach in front of the restaurant. For a restaurant that caters to tourist their food is very good and reasonably priced.

The food is fine and it is right on the beach, so you can enjoy a stroll before or after your lunch.
Parking is tough in that part of Cocoa Beach, so Uner/Lyft would be a good idea.

My understanding is you don't normally leave the secure area on a BTB. You are escorted off the ship after everyone else, taken through customs, to testing, tested and then after a short wait escorted back onto the ship and to a lounge where only BTBers have access.

You will have to navigate your own departure from the secure area and re-check-in like a new cruiser if you leave the secure area.

I've always wanted to eat conch fritters and they have them so I thought this might be a good time to cross that off things I've never eaten.

We wont have a car anyway so yep - lyft will have to be our go to.

Are you getting off in any ports during your cruise? If you are probably better to get conch there. Coconuts is most likely frozen and not what your would find on the islands.

My thoughts

  • What am I going to do at the port if we stay? Boredom is not my friend and I'm not really one for curling up with a good book for hours at a time.
  • If we do stay, when we get back on board there will be nothing to do, eat, drink, until other passengers start getting on board anyway. Would the concierge lounge be open before the rest of the ship? With little nibbly bits and the whirlpools running?
  • I'm concierge when I get back on the ship so I should be able to come back once they start boarding and the pools and stuff open back up and just walk on when we get there.

Unless there's a good place to do it in Nassu no. I couldn't find a single shore excursion worth doing in Nassu... except the chocolate tour that we've already done.

Yes, I've eaten there and it was TERRIBLE. I didn't understand the popularity it at all. Loud, drunken patrons, horrible service, food was meh when we eventually got it. One and done for us.

Tim Tracker did a video where they met a local content creator and walked to a nearby restaurant for lunch on Nassau. I'm 95% sure they had conch fritters. I think the video was uploaded in late fall--I know it was after we booked but before we told our kids.

I don’t know anything about Coconuts, but Conch Fritters are delicious. If you’re ever in South Florida, I have some great places for you to try.
