Cocoa Beach

We are going on the 10/22 Western Cruise and are staying at the Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach the day before. Has anyone ever stayed in this hotel and if so, how is it and how far from the beach is it? Also, what's the best way to get from the hotel to Port Canaveral? Taxi?

HI, we have stayed right beside it, and it is not far at all from the port..Most hotels now have shuttles, I would call and see if they do...Personally, we cab it to the port, because the shuttles start too late for our liking..We love to be at the port by 10:30 to check-in, and stand in line for boarding...I feel that the first day is by far the best, quietest, time to roam around and swim with empty pools.

The cab ride is something like 3 dollars per person..Not a long drive 10-15 minutes maximum...
