Cocoa Beach hotels

Any recommendations for a hotel post-cruise on the beach (preferably ocean view!)? We are staying an extra day in the area to do KSC and our flight leaves late the next day so hoping for some beach time before we leave! We have a reservation at the Hampton Inn, which seems to fit the bill, but looking for any personal experience! TIA!

We liked the La Quinta, nice breakfast, oceanfront balcony room, you can watch the Disney ships sail by

I concur with the Hampton Inn. We've stayed there a few times and it's been a great experience every time. The upper floor rooms have ocean views. There's a walking path to the beach and they have a nice pool. What I like most about it is the staff. Every time we've stayed there, the staff has been outstanding. Very helpful and friendly.

From my research, I think the Hampton Inn also has free breakfast. I'm thinking about booking there.

This confused me, so I thought I would pass along what I have researched. There are 2 LaQuinta hotels in Cocoa Beach.

The oceanfront one (1 Hendry Ave) is very close to the pier.

The other one (1275 N Atlantic Ave) is not oceanfront. Price is a lot more reasonable! (For our 1 night prior to cruise $188 oceanfront vs $122 for this one.)

Both have free breakfast.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn club in Port Canaveral before our cruise in November. It is kind of spread out but they have a building or 2 that are on the beach. It is an easy walk to the jetty so fun to play on the beach and watch the ships leave.

I'm going to chime in and say the Sheraton right downtown across from Ron John's - I always stay here before a cruise and like it for a number of reasons:

The parking garage is assessable from your floor - so you can part of the floor aligned to your room

It has a good restaurant, big store and combined with a across the way - lots to do

Walk 2 blocks to the beach near the pier

Lots of things around

I've always got a good deal and there is a good pool

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Club before our February Cruise. We really liked it and next time we cruise we are going to make sure we come in a day sooner so we will be able to enjoy the hotel.
It's right on the beach and it has a very nice pool. More of a resort then just a hotel.

We are not club members so no you don't. I think they call it that because it is more of a resort.

Also we didn't know this but they also have a shuttle to the cruise ship. We drove and had already paid for Port Parking but then found out we could of kept our car at the hotel and taking the shuttle over (don't know if they charge for it).

We recently tried the Inn at Cocoa Beach - independent, just a walk across their lawn to the beach. They also serve breakfast. The rooms were lovely (there were 7 of us), the staff was very nice. We would definitely go again.

aka a time share place that rents out the rooms when not otherwise occupied .....

"I have several weeklong reservations at the Holiday Inn Vacation Club Cape Canaveral Beach Resort, formally called The Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort. These reservations are for 2 bedroom units, all are Saturday to Saturday, and some are lockout units (premium) and some are in the oceanfront building (normally higher cost to stay there). However, most reservations are in the poolside building. In case you don’t know, the resort has one building on the beach and the other away from the beach but closer to the amenities such as pools, kids’ playroom, movie theatre, restaurant, etc. All weeks are $1,650 ‘out the door’ with no additional fees except what you may charge to your room while there. Once I receive 50% payment, I will change the name on the reservation to your name. Either a personal check, money order or PayPal are acceptable payment methods. Balance must be paid off no later than 60 days prior to your arrival date. I can provide proof from the resort of a valid reservation, upon request."

sorry, i should have been more specific about the La Quinta. I have stayed at both for different reasons during our last cruise. The one on Atlantic is known as the "Astronaut Hotel" is cheaper and is perfect for the night before the cruise. I liked the heated pool, but not much of a breakfast.
I wanted a few more days in the sun after the cruise, and we stayed at the other La Quinta on Hendry. More expensive, but on the beach, more of a "vacation type feel to it
