Cocktails and Characters the the DLH?

I thought I read on a trip report (Emma/Little Mermaid I think it was yours) that the characters come out in the afternoon in the DLH and that if you are in the bar you get to see them.

As we've 3 birthdays on our trip next week I thought this might be a great idea to have drinks here and take advantage of some character spotting.

Can anyone confirm what time the characters are at?

When we were there 3 weeks ago the characters came out at 4pm (the same time as the parade so the hotel is fairly quiet). We watched the parade the first day and then went to DLH to meet the characters the other 2 days.

You don't need to be in the bar, the characters come down the main staircase so we just waited in the foyer, as most other people did too. The characters danced with the children and then posed for photographs but there was no scrum at all - in fact some of the characters seemed to be looking around for someone to have a photo taken with!!

I would certainly recommend it if you are near the hotel at that time of day.

It is deffo at 4pm and they stay till about 4.20-30.

If you hurry out after you have seen them you can still catch most of the most parade as it passes by central plaza.
