Last week i had a fall and landed with a bump on my butt :scared1: i am in a lot of pain now, cant walk or sit without being in pain, i fly in a few weeks and am worried that i wont be better by then

Can anyone offer any advice on how to deal with the pain and help my coccyx get better:confused:

Ouch   have you been to the doctor? What did he/she say?

My friend broke hers after a fall from her horse and it did take several months to heal but she was able to lead a fairly normal life - she managed the pain with pain killers and as we were still at school she used to carry a cushion round with her to sit on.

If normal pain killers aren't helping I'd get back to the doctors asap to get something stronger.

Sending lots of :wizard: :wizard: that you're feeling better soon - I did my back in when in WDW in 2007 and whilst it was better in time for our flight home it did mess up our plans quite a bit.

In a weird twilight zone moment both myself and my partner both injured our coccyxs exactly one month apart.

Sorry to bring bad news but that was 8 months ago and I still get pain when sitting for a long time! My best advice is to use ice-packs every 2 hours for 15 minutes. Don't use heat gel or sprays because that will irritate it more.

Whether it's fractured or not doesn't matter as there is no treatment for it either way - try an inflatable ring (a swimming ring for kids?) to sit on as that helps.

I hope you feel better quicker than we did - our flights out aren't until November and we're already nervous about sitting that long!

Good luck. D xx

I found sitting on an exercise ball helped - better than sitting on the sofa.

What about a donut cushion? I know Boots sell them...

It helped my friend massively when she broke her coccyx!

Hope you get better soon

Thanks guys i will pop to boots and see what they have to sit on, we seems to have a lot of stuff in our bodies that we dont really nedd but go wrong a lot, tailbones, tonsills, appendix
