We're planning a trip in early May, just wondering about windbreakers? I'm from New England, so when it rains its usually cold too. How is it in FL. ? I have a chioce of windbreakers with light fleece liners or no lining at all? Which would be more appropriate?

I'd vote for no liners. When we've gone in May, it's been in the 80s and 90s.

Last time we went, it was April and in the 60s. We're from Fargo, so that was really warm to us. We wore tank tops and shorts. We saw several people wearing winter hats and jackets - we got a kick out of that!

It all depends on what you're acclimated to.

We went last May and the May before.
Our first 08 trip was wonderful! Never needed a poncho or a jacket, we wore short sleeves, thanks, and shorts. No rain, just GREAT weather, perfect, not much humidity.
Our 09 trip....wow what a difference. Honestly, I think it was a fluke, FL was in a drought prior to our arrival and on our 2nd day it did nothing but rain rain rain until we left. I did have a sweatshirt that I was thankful I packed b/c it was a cold rain and we had to pick DD up a sweatshirt b/c it was a bit chilly.
I would bring maybe 1 jacket cause you just never know.

We're from MA and were there last year, last week of April... it was warm and if I remember correctly, it threatened to rain but it was more like humidity rain, so it wasn't cold for us. We were loving the warm weather!

Thanks!
I'm really on the fence about "rain" gear for the kids : ponchos vs windbreaker with liner vs windbreaker without liner? It rains on every other vacation we've ever taken, so I'd like to be prepared without packing too much!

We bring multiple $1 ponchos (not very green I know but there is no good way to dry those things in a hotel room so we toss them). We also bring terry fleece hoodies. If we need to add a hoodie...great. If not, we are all set. I think the ponchos work better than a windbreaker because they protect your bags and also will protect a little further down your body (depending on your height) than a windbreaker. When it pours in Florida....it POURS

One evening, early May, a few years ago, we were in MK after the sun had gone down & we were quite cold :cold:

We just wearing t-shirts & we had to search the gift shops for a long-sleeved sweatshirt to buy for DS.

We go early May every year. Usually 80's, at night still in mid to high 70's. Last yuear in was hot ,upper 90's and rain. I still bring hoodies for the boys, sweater for me for the late night or restaurants but we are from S FLA so 72 means a sweater for me. I would go with the lighter option since you are used to cooler temps. You can always pick up a sweatshirt once there if you find it to cool once there.

We go in mid-April every year. We each bring a sweatshirt (the evenings and early mornings can be chilly). That's all we've needed for outerwear. Man, I really hope I didn't just jinx myself by saying that! :scared1:

:wave2: Just wanted to say "Hey, neighbor."
We live in Fergus and we're going to WDW in April too.
I wanted Feb. but DH said we should wait until April, then when we come back home we won't (hopefully) be looking at 8 feet of snow in our yard!

Anyway, have a fun trip!!
