Coasterguy's Quest to a million credits

I am glad to hear they are making a bit of an effort at shortening their guests line time. My personal opinion though, is that what they are doing is barely scratching the surface of the problem. I hope when people go for special events for coaster fans they do something extra to help that line time. My experience was always 2-3 hours on the major and newer coasters. I think thats ridiculous to ask paying guests to wait in line that long. Again, its only my two cents. I do realize the draw for the coasters to Cedar Point though, as I said, they really can't be beat for that.

I'll throw in another nice tip for Sandusky area and that is if you can swing the $$ staying at the Great Wolf Lodge is pretty cool, they have their own private water park. Looking up info through the Erie County Visitors Bureau is a good idea too. They can send a book with some discounts in it ahead of time. (My mom used to work for them, lol) If you're tired of the park, there is lots of little local things that are fun also, like a drive over toward Port Clinton or a ferry ride to the local islands. There's a cute Merry Go Round Museum in downtown Sandusky and Tofts Dairy is a great place for Ice Cream too! If you head towards Huron, you might stumble on the spot I got married too, right on the waters edge! Now how cute is that? :rotfl:
Edit: And to be even more sappy, if you want to see the photo of that day click here I'm not admitting how many years ago that was. I will say though, that I look EXACTLY the same! :lmao:

The Miller Ferry and The Jet Express both take you to those islands like
Put-In-Bay and others.
If you have every rode or are going to put in bay and do ride the Miller Ferry there is a little trailor park place and you will see a big white house and that is where my family camps on the weekends.

Merry-Go-Round museum i have never been to but pass it on my way to Cedar Point. lol
As well as Toft's Ice Cream @_@

Not to hijack this thread..... HI COASTERGUY! :cool1:

KrazyLuke - I will take you up on your offer! We are heading there in 3 weeks, and I would love an "itinerary" and anything else you can send my way. Right now we are booked at Breakers Express, but I'm seriously thinking of switching over to the Hotel Breakers to be right at the park. I have 3 boys - ages 16, 14, and 9 - and we are planning on riding EVERYTHING. We will have 2-1/2 days to see the park.

Jewel - We have to talk! I didn't know you've been to Cedar Point. And I love love love your wedding photo! Thanks for sharing! And you DO look exactly the same, my beautiful red-haired best friend!

Kimberly,

If you can afford the switch to the Hotel Breakers, I would do it! The express is ok but to be right there with your own entrance is awesome. Especially if you want to take a break in the day to go back to your room and freshen up. My husband is not a coaster fan so it is nice for him to go back and just hang out.

For those that have been there, I do know one part of Hotel Breakers is older than the other and also, there is no elevator on one part but I don't remember which. Just things to consider when booking.

Coasterguy, let me know how the event goes. I had considered doing this with the family but school is not out yet over here!

Had a great day at the park today. Rode everything except for Blue Streak and Millineum Force since it's having lift problems. It did seem to be running tonight so hopefully it's fixed. I'll post more details and pics soon. I'm headed off to bed since we have to be at the park at 5am for Coaster Mania.

I'm staying at Breakers Express and so you have to pay for parking everyday. You can leave and come back once without paying again. In fact when we came back late tonight we got to park in the lot next to the Challange Park. We're here for 6 days so Hotel Breakers would have been quite a bit more.

Hey Kimberly, you might consider getting an extra memory card or 2 for your camera. You can use a different card each day so you won't have any problems with that pesky format command.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I was able to get onto VMK and got the new Pirate pin so no one needs to get me extras, thanks again.

Finally rode Blue Streak, nice ride. Got 5 rides on Top Thrill Dragster during the morning ERT, total of 7 rides now. Still no Milennium Force, hopefully will get to ride it before we leave.

Hey, Stephen...sounds like you're having a lot of fun! :teeth:

Keep reporting in. Sounds like a blast!

Would you recommend the Breakers Express? It would be about $500 more to move over to Hotel Breakers.

Very funny, Stephen..... that's all I can say!! Blue would say an even better approach would be for me to keep my hands OFF the camera at all times!

Hope you get to ride Millenium Force! That's the one I'm looking forward to! :) I don't think you'll get me on Top Thrill Dragster....

Top Thrill Dragster is not as bad as you might think. It's over almost before you know it. :D
But there is a lovely view at the top for the .08 seconds you're there. :rotfl:

I know if my ex was there for this, he'd be having a fit that MF isn't open. That's is fave coaster. Oh well. Hope you guys get to ride it. :)

Yes girl, we do need to talk!! When is your trip? I would love to help you out with any questions at all. As I mentioned before my mom worked for the visitors bureau there and she even worked at Cedar Point for a short time. My personal opinion is to save your money and not stay at Breakers, but that all depends on why you are picking that hotel. It will NOT be like staying on property at Disney, not even close or similar, lol. Anyway, we can talk more about it without having the discussion here on the thread. See you in the other window!

I've been up for 22 hours now... AND HAVING A BLAST!!!!

Our day started at 5am getting registered for Coaster Mania. ERT started at 6am on Top Thrill Dragster and Raptor. They were going to do Millennium, but after working on it all night there were still problems. We had already ridden Raptor on Thursday so we chose to ride TTD. Got 5 rides on it before the park opened to the public. There was a question and answer session with a bunch of Cedar Fair, Cedar Park folks. Coaster Mania included lunch too.

Evening ERT was on Blue Streak, Gemini and Magnum and was scheduled till 12 and they FIXED Millinneum Force and gave us ERT on it till 1AM!!! I got 4 rides on Blue Streak, 3 on Magnum and 6 on Millineum.

Kimberly, you've got to give TTD a chance. It looks intimidating, but it's an awsome ride and is over pretty quick and the view from 420 feet is great.

As far as Hotel Breakers vs Express it's about a mile from the park so you have to drive. After paying for parking you can come back once without paying again. The website says you get to enter the park 30 minutes early, but we got in an hour early. So far they had Raptor and Manitis open early. We rode those and then got into line for TTD about 9:30 before the park opened to the public. Don't know what days you're planning on coming so another Cedar Point veteran may have better advice. Don't know what the rooms are like at Breakers Hotel, but our room has 2 queen beds and is comparable to a room at Best Western.
