Coast 2 Coast Disney! *Update 3/22 Crystal Palace and Keys To The Kingdom*

Both your CP breakfast and your tour sound great! I think being able to go behind the scenes is really cool.

I know what you mean about feeling a little weird about taking pictures at buffets. You just know there are a few people in the restaurant who don't understand. :confused3

Subbing! Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.

When I saw the pictures of the snow, I was like "I don't remember getting snow here then?!" Then I remembered that it basically did just rain / flurry. I can't believe you got that much snow up by you!

Your breakfast at CP looks great! We really enjoyed it there as well! DBF went nuts for that breakfast casserole too.

The Keys to the Kingdom Tour sounds really interesting! I've always debated doing a tour like that, maybe in the future we will! It must be really cool to get to see the behind-the-scenes aspects!

I thought it was so fascinating! I felt bad for the lady that felt it ruined the magic for her, but I thought everything was really interesting. It made me forget about the fact that it was absolutely freezing!!

Amazing updates!

I have a serious weakness for the PB&J Malt at 50's PT - so I can only imagine that this Creme brulee is AMAZING!!!

Your KTTK tour sounds awesome too!

D~

I haven't tried the PB&J Malt ever, but it sounds amazingly good!

I remember that day. Was it ever 67 at any point? My phone kept reading the temp in the mid to low 50s ALL DAY. We all packed pants and a light jacket ... as we thought that would be all we would need. We spent all day looking for indoor things to do to stay warm. :lmao:

I'm glad you enjoyed your tour! I'd love to do it one day. Maybe on an adults only trip. :thumbsup2

I know that it was 67 but that it was very early in the morning and it spiraled out of control from there. I am glad to know that it isn't only Wisconsin that can have 90 degree weather one day, and 50s the next!

So true! I was much better on this trip except for our lunch at Columbia Harbor House on the tour. Since I had to spend the next 3 ish hours with the people, I couldn't be "that girl" that took photos of her tuna sandwich!

It was insanity! I kept calling the hotel the whole way down updating them on our arrival time, I didn't want them to cancel our reservation. They lady just kept telling me "Don't worry, its just drizzling." So I kept telling Adam "HURRY UP! Its only DRIZZLING in Chicago!!" I think when we were in the shuttle going to O'hare there were a few flurries, but that was all.

Great update! OMG @ you referencing What Would You Do. I used to be obsessed with that show! Underrated 90's Nick classic!

I've never even heard of Peanut Butter and Jelly Creme Brulee before but wow, that sounds awesome and very inventive!

The tour sounds really cool. There are so many of them I always want to do at WDW but never seem to fit them in. I feel bad for the guest who felt some of the magic was ruined... that's unfortunate. I've thought of that before in regard to working at Disney, like would it ruin the magic for me.

Can't wait for more!

I just read your report so far. Looking forward to reading more.
I got the Tapas box on a flight last month. I was doing low carb, and had gotten to the airport at 6:30am, so I was very hungry by the time they brought drinks. It was awesome, and I could eat most of it. The olives were the best.

Haha, I do remember the Nick What Would You Do, but I meant the one thats part of 20/20 now. Where they put people in awkward situations to see how they will react.

Hey thanks for joining! Those olives are awesome! Much better than jarred olives and much better than I was expecting!

Sorry about the delay in updates. I had this post written out about three times this week...but got distracted each time and never did get it finished. But that's what Saturday afternoons are for, right?

After we enjoyed our drinks at the bar, I decided I wanted to add a few more layers of clothing. It was really cold and WINDY out. So I did the quick change, called Mom and Dad quick (whoops! forgot to call them yesterday!) and we were off to bus stop 2. There was a bus headed to Epcot there, but I decided to forego it in favor of a bus to Magic Kingdom. :confused3 We ended up waiting about 25 min.

When we finally arrived at Magic Kingdom and then we didn't make it on to the first monorail. So, I was stressing out even more. This was most definitely the one reservation we COULD NOT be late for the entire trip. We made our way past the Contemporary, through the TTC, and FINALLY to the Poly! We ended up being about 15 minutes early for our ADR. I breathed a huge sigh of relief.

Here is a bit about our meal at Ohana!

At long last...the time had come. We were about to embark on our very first trip to the infamous Ohana. I went there with an open, yet cautious mind. I didn't have much intention of trying to get an ADR here, but my dear fiance asks me for nothing really when it comes to our Disney trips, so when he asked that we try "that meat place" I had to indulge him.

We had a 6:35 PM reservation. I anticipated a lobby crowded with hundreds of people and screaming children. We walked into a (dare I say?) blissful setting. We were handed a pager (we were about 15 minutes early) and headed for the gift shop as Adam continued his quest for pressed pennies.

No sooner had we added to the pressed coin collection (we could only find a pressed quarter machine) then our buzzer went off.

We were seated at a table at the far corner of the restaurant. We were off to a great start.

We started off with the welcome bread. Very delicious. I only had one chunk though, as I knew that our culinary adventure had only just begun.

The dressing really is as good as everyone claims it to be. I polished off almost this entire bowl!

Pot stickers and wings. The wings are AMAZING!! The pot stickers were pretty dry and unappetizing though.

You can also see the broccoli and noodles in the background...They are ok. I don't think its really needed with all the other food that you get.

And so then...I got distracted by the endless parade of food...and forgot to photograph the meats.

We had asked if we could have our steak medium rare. Our server told me that he wasn't sure, but he would do his best.

The chicken was up first. It had a wonderful smoke flavor to it, but was still moist. It earned a :thumbsup2

Then came pork. I usually don't like pork, because I always think it tastes dry, despite how other people rave about how moist it is. I have the same issue with turkey. This pork was fantastic! It had a hard crunchy glaze and was was moist on the inside. I actually had 2 helpings!

Then came the steak, which was done a beautiful medium rare. I know why they do it medium to medium well. It was pretty tough, and not all that exciting, but the marinade was good.

Then a server came around and asked if we wanted more shrimp. Well sure, since we never got any in the first place, more is always great!

I usually love shrimp! And these are very tasty, but I only had a few because I hated getting all messy.

And up next...

Was heaven. I mean, I actually picture heaven to be a place where there are unlimited helpings of Ohana bread pudding.

So so so so so so so so good! Too bad I was so full, otherwise I would have definitely had the whole bowl.

In the background you will see a magical star cocktail. I am a Wisconsin girl (technically North Carolina girl but my prime drinking years were spent in Wisconsin.) This was just too strong for my taste, and not all that smooth. Adam ending up downing most of it, because we don't allow waste of alcohol!

All in all, we would definitely go back to Ohana!

I had originally planned for us to enjoy Wishes from the beach at the Poly, but since our experience at Ohana was so efficient, we had time to head to Magic Kingdom. We made our way back to the Monorail station and headed towards the Magic Kingdom.

Once we stepped off our little protective Highway in the Sky...I realized there was probably no way we were going to make it through much of the Extra Magic Hours! It was FREEZING! I made a B-line straight for the first shop I saw and prayed they had what I needed. Thankfully, they did! I regretfully handed over $9 for a pair of $2 gloves and instantly regretted not bringing one of the approximately 5,000 pairs of gloves I own. But, who knew I would need a pair of mittens in Florida in the middle of March?

We made our way towards the hub, just in time to watch the Magic, Memories, and You show. I had never heard of nor seen the show before and I LOVED it! It was also a nice way to pass those last minutes before Wishes. We stayed to watch Wishes and then we made a mad dash for Space Mountain.

We then made our way into Fantasyland to take a spin on a ride that was closed during our last trip. Adam unknowingly agreed to go for his first ever ride on It's a Small World!

Then we decided we would head over to the Hall of Presidents, since I really enjoy it...

Only to find out it was closed.

So Adam headed to the restroom while I took some pictures of the surrounding area...

We headed over the Mickey's Philharmagic and then we decided we should get headed home for the night. But not before a spin on Stitch's Great Escape (Stitch is Adam's favorite character.)

And so concludes Day Two!

Hi, I just found your report. Just the end of day two so I'm not too late to the party.

I'm sure you had a wonderful trip but it's just wrong to have to wear gloves in March. I hope the weather got better while you were there.

Subbing in! I really like your food reviews, I've been trying to convince my boyfriend to try Flying Fish (and the rest of the signatures) but he's still not sure.

Did Adam enjoy it's a small world? It's a ride with such divisive opinions (I fall firmly on the side of 'practically perfect in every way') that's it's fun to hear people talk about it! I love the Don Quixote dolls - it's one of my favorite details in the ride.

Welcome to the party!! So glad you could make it. The gloves were pretty awful, but I promise you the weather does get better.

You guys should try some of the signatures! Its always been a wonderful experience for us!

I think he was indifferent on It's a Small World. I'm not sure he would go on it again, but he was glad to have gone on it at least once.
